We woke up to so many tiny ants in our bathroom. When we called the front desk at 7am they said they were sending someone immediately and no one came. We packed up and checked out much earlier than intended and they could only offer us a gift certificate to come back there again which we will not be doing.

Issues with Hotel Bonaventure: Customer service not aware of breakfast timings and gave erroneous information leading to inconvenience. No room service available for lunch (only after 4pm) Attitude of supervisor on duty when advised of these issues. Room showing wear/tear: loose handles, rattling mirrors.

Everything about this property is amazing! The lobby, pool, hot tub, rooms, people and smell! Best location also!

This hotel is a Montreal vibe. The design and layout are unique and felt luxurious without being pretentious or uncomfortable, almost like a resort in the middle of downtown, within walking distance of Old Montreal. We booked three rooms for the Easter long weekend, and it was extremely busy. The pool was a little crazy ... One poor woman trying to swim laps did not have her expectations met, as child after child splashed into her way. That said, if she'd waited till Monday she would have had it almost to herself. The sauna was absolutely lovely, and we did have that to ourselves. The staff was professional but not friendly (no eye contact till they've finished their conversation with their co-workers, if you please), competent but not helpful. (I'd booked through Expedia because their reservation system is in French, which I regrettably don't speak or read, and any requested changes were therefore "impossible.") The breakfast buffet was quite good ... Our grandchildren especially loved the croissants... And the espresso machine was a delight. Good value for kids, not so much so for adults at $30, but worth it if you want a quick, decent breakfast with lots of options before leaving the hotel. The beds were comfortable, but if you're sensitive to motion transfer you won't want to share here. Like many hotels these days, I'm guessing the Bonaventure uses a pricing algorithm to set room rates, as we paid a different rate for each of the 4 nights we were there. 😐

Loved the pool!

The pool, hot tub and sauna were beautiful and the pool was warm! The restaurant and bar and lobby were nicely decorated and drinks at the bar were great! Service was excellent as well! We enjoyed our seat and would come again!

Conveniently located within walking distance to train station, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Friendly and professional staff. Unique setup with rooms on 10th floor with direct access to an outdoor pool!

Even though I had reserved a room with city view ahead of time, when I arrived I was informed that due to a hockey game my room was not available. I was given the option to either go to a different room with different bed arrangement (by the pool) or be transferred to a different hotel. I chose to stay. The room was noisy till 11 pm that the pool was closing. The room did not seem super clean and it had a funny odor. The breakfast was of mediocre to poor quality. I would not recommend this hotel.

Beautiful property with brutalist architecture. The only down fall is the amount of children in the pool.

Year-Round outdoor pool is fabulous. It's heated. It's like a warm bathtub. Very convenient location. Amazing service. Very clean. As good for families as it is for couples and groups of friends
