Room was basic and needed updating

It was a nice stay. The location is excellent really close to railway station and Winter garden and city centre next door. I liked vibe of the lobby and bar atmosphere. The room was spacious and had good amenities and a big tv, although the volume is set low. I get the need to not keep up the neighbours, but I struggled to hear the tv. I liked the fact that you could open the bedroom window to let in some air. The bed was comfy and bathroom had quality free toiletries. The toilet wasn’t in the bathroom which I found a little odd and the picture in the room of a work vest was a little strange. The breakfast was tasty and a good range of options. Overall I feel that the hotel was a good value and I’d stay again, but a few little tweaks could make it exceptional.

We had a great time the only thing the mat let us down was the fridge didn’t work. Sour our baby milk ended up going sour which was not ideal. But other that that it was fantastic

The hotel is conveniently located close to everything. The train station was less than 10 mins walk. There's a Tesco express and a Sainsbury's right outside the hotel. The room was clean and spacious enough to fit a queen bed, double sofa bed and a cot. We had a comfortable sleep. We used the pool once, there was a steam room as well. Breakfast buffet wasnt all that may be because we had dietary restrictions. Also note that theres no Aircon. But the staff were nice enough to I give us an extra fan. We would stay here again!

Booked this hotel thinking Novotel hotels were all supposed to be good. It says 4 star after all. Our room was very tired and dated. A damaged internal door with poorly patched up hole. Strange pebble dashing on the walls. Very old wonky toilet facilities. Shower screen that leaked badly all over the floor (and therefore drenched clothes left on the floor). Seems the shower gel and shampoo had been watered down like cafes sometimes do in the bathrooms with hand soap. A bizarre kind of plastic sink. The room was very stuffy with an extremely poor/utterly pointless air system. No air con - just a barely perceptible air flow into the room which you could not change/increase. The mattress was rock solid and the pillows were awful. Each one was effectively sleeping on several hard clumps of whatever the filling was in a pillowcase. They probably should have been thrown away years ago. Can’t imagine all the rooms are like this and felt we ended up being dumped into one of worst ones.

Room clean apart from dirty cup on arrival, hotel in a fantastic location in Sheffield, reception and pool nice, staff good and helpful. Room was tight and sofa bed springs felt like they were coming through mattress. Overall 7/10

Great location and as you’d expect from a Novotel. Managed to get parking but last space and tight.

The hotel was clean, and the room was comfortable. However, the staff were not particularly friendly. The reception staff seemed uninterested, and the service at breakfast was also quite unfriendly. A warm welcome and a more positive attitude from the staff would have made the stay much more enjoyable. Overall, the cleanliness was good, but the customer service was disappointing.

No air conditioning in rooms. Rooms a little tired. Toilet in separate room to shower and basin. Great breakfast including made to order gluten free option. Nice bar area. Excellent staff

This hotel really did represent value for money on a weekend where the city was busy due to a famous comedian performing. The hotel is central and only a five minute walk from the train station. Staff helpful, communal spaces lovely for a drink in the evening. Room was roomy shower powerful with lovely toiletries provided - only one bath towel provided for 2 of us but that will have been an oversight and guess what we coped. The breakfast was ok I had to ask for more bread which then was provided, not a great selection of fresh fruit to go with yogurt but yet again we coped don’t know if that represented value for money. However the setting is nice. Would stay here again.

No air con. No air. Roll down bed very uncomfortable. Lumpy pillows. Awoken by distressed person sitting in corridor shouting and crying. Very poor sleep. Pool side dirty. Bar staff rude.

Firs time staying here, pool was great and you need to book a time slot, the room nice and clean, it would be good if there were net curtains, staff were friendly , breakfast was okay. Would definitely stay here again
