The Harlow Hotel By Accor

This hotel just scraped into 'Okay'. Modern enough property but running on minimum staff. Sometimes Reception unattended ('due to fire walk'). We discovered as we were leaving for an engagement that in fact our hotel door did not lock. (Going in we used the key and it opened but in fact it was open anyway. Only on leaving as we checked the handle was this obvious). Reception shrugged it off. No maintenance people on site. Only choice was to change rooms which meant moving everything down the corridor against a deadline to leave. Rooms are tired with cracked sink and other evidence of becoming time-expired. Actually provides a decent breakfast but once again the one or two staff there are in a daze, surprised to find you waiting to come in to be seated. Everything is buffet - even tea and coffee. Replenishment of hot items slow and had to be prompted. Evidence of complete thoughtlessness. Far too many plates on a double hotplate - the result is the ones you take at the top are still cold whilst the ones at the bottom are too hot to touch but never get used since the pile gets replaced from the top..... Parking OK but is £10/night and a third party hand car wash operates in the car park which adds traffic and the consequences of water/soap everywhere.

Booked on a hotel site, no mention of car park charges but they wanted £40 but if booked direct with them no charge. Double room, 2 single beds put together 1 higher than the other, apparently that's fine!! floor had what felt like broken concrete so very uneven. Rooms very dated and definitely not stay again

Nice enough hotel- lovely front staff, willing to help. The bar stocked a nice selection of beers and stouts, and the food we ordered was fine. Parking was easy and reasonably priced, but if you arrive late- you may have to look for a place. During the day, it’s easy. Don’t forget to check in your car as soon as you arrive. This is important- I suspect you’ll be fined. And request an email receipt of your registration. If I’m honest- it’s a little run down, and my room had a slightly odd, musty smell. Furnishings and finishes could definitely do with an overhaul. That being said- it was secure and safe, the bed was very comfortable, blackout in the room was great, and check in and check out was straightforward. I would use this hotel again and very probably will- but it’s not a romantic getaway. This is more a comfortable night for someone working away from home.

We arrived after a long journey. We were told in no uncertain terms that the key was very sensitive and not to put it near our phones! We enquired about the restaurant and told we had to order right away. So no time to shower and change just dump our bags. The food was OK but not brilliant. We had to ask for condiments and when they came we had to ask for napkins. We only saw 2 other guests. Decor was somewhat dated and washbasin cracked. Probably wouldn't use again

Receptionist needs a refresher on customer service. Not warm/friendly at all. The card did not work one time and we called (she said she can't leave the desk) so we had to walk the entire way from the back. To be clear: I am not expecting her to leave her desk. Is there only 1 staff in this place? An apology would have been enough for the trouble. Instead? She said to not place the card near a phone. No sorry for that. I didn't ask for the reason or who is to blame. Is the technology being used by this hotel really that ancient? We stayed here to support a loved one in the nearby hospital. This attitude was really the last thing we need during this time.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times, it offers itself to be a comfortable hotel for affordable prices. The rooms are always clean and the beds are comfortable. However the general maintenance of the room was poor, (cracks and dents in the wall). Also there was an issue with the plumbing, either an air bubble or too much pressure as the taps would groan and open every 10 minutes or so between 9pm and 11pm.

A good place to lay your head. Comfortable bed and room. No usb points so lucky i bought an adapter. Evening food was cooked on a nuclear level so I would not eat here again if i came back.

Equipe simpática e prestativa, acomodação nao tão atualizadas mais em ordem. Café da manhã regional, estacionamento 10 pounds por noite.

Room could have done with a light touch up in places, mainly the bathroom Room amenities and bed were fine. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful.

The unexpected £10 parking charge was a bit of surprise and when we had two cars. Never paid for parking before when we have stayed before

the hotel was clean and tidy, plenty of parking. Breakfast was good + fresh bean coffee. Small issue with one window not opening and the AC was out of action with an error code, didn't raise at the time due to late evening

Nice receptionist got me a coffee and was very polite this morning

10 pound for carpark kills it

Only stayed one night but will definitely stay again. Good breakfast accomodation good and staff lovely

Room: fine Staff: extremely helpful; willing to go the extra mile for their customers Bar/restaurant: not good. 1) The wines available bore no relation to the wines listed on the menu - that's just slack. 2) There was no mustard available. ("We don't have many condiments - just ketchup and mayonnaise) Seriously? In a place serving meals. 3) I ordered cheese and biscuits, only to be told there was only cheddar and brie available - you were out of blue cheese. There are some serious issues on the catering front that need addressing.

Only complaint is the mattress was really uncomfortable .

Expensive for the kind of hotel

There are areas that need a little TLC. The rooms ive stayed in have been immaculately clean, with fresh bedding and towels. The best complement I can give is how professional and friendly the staff are. Gemma A, Hardeep, Diptii, Roxana and Malika are amazing.
