Decent hotel for the money. The room was aesthetically stylish, and the heating was simple and the windows were openable.
The shower door didn’t close fully but the bed was comfy.
I’d stay again.

Stayed at the Trivelles Regency in Nottingham and honestly the check-in experience was really disappointing. Both myself and several other guests were told we had to pay a £50 security deposit, despite the confirmation email clearly stating it would only be a £1 deposit if paying by card, and £200 only if paying by cash.
When we showed the staff member the email, they refused to accept what was written and still insisted on the £50 payment. For some people checking in, that money was part of their budget for their night out, so it caused unnecessary stress and frustration straight away.
If the hotel policy has changed, the booking information should be updated to reflect that. It’s unfair to tell guests one thing beforehand and then demand something different on arrival.

The stay wasn’t expensive and you get what you paid for , the walls are paper thin and the tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked and quite dangerous bare foot , the toilet didn’t flush but they came and made it better after we mentioned it

Check-in - painfully Slow...
Insisted on charging a £50 "deposit" at check-in that wasn't mentioned at the time of booking, then after reluctantly paying by card and SEEING THE GREEN TICK AND APPROVAL CONFIRMATION on the terminal screen, the receptionist claimed it hadn't been successful, and I'd need to pay it again (which I refused to do).
In the one small lift, the button for the Ground Floor was taped over with the message "Not Workig" (sic) meaning the only way to get back to the ground floor and exit the building was down a rough worn stone staircase, that had lights controlled by sensors that did not detect a person until they were half way down. I WOULD CONSIDER THIS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. when mentioned to the receptionist the response was a dismissive "we know"...
I have enjoyed good stays at other Trivelles branded properties elsewhere, but sadly this one fell some way short of their standard.

The staff member who checked me in was very abrupt, didn't seem interested. Lift was broken, so I had to get the lift to the first floor and use the slippery concrete steps down to the ground floor. Room was freezing cold; heating was broken and the room had no radiators.
