Hakone Suisen

The whole place was spotless, staff was more than great, but what stood out is their attention to details: the way they recognize you and bring you your shoes as soon as you enter the lobby, they give you a flashlight if you go out at night, they take time to explain things. It is the PERFECT place to stay for a night or two, in a quiet environment.

Absolutely loved my stay here - quiet and serene with beautiful mountain views. The onsens were incredible and often empty because of how small the hotel is. Great service and facilities!

Upon arrival, one staff member was not very welcoming. Since we arrived early, our intention was to leave our bags and explore the area, but he did not explain the no-shoes policy and came across as rude, which was a bit uncomfortable. That said, during check-in, the young lady who assisted us was extremely polite and took the time to clearly explain everything. Her professionalism made a great impression. Overall, the hotel is beautiful, and aside from the initial interaction, we had a pleasant experience.

If you want something boutique and intimate away from the usual Hakone tourist crowds, this is the place! The staff was so nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious with amazing views. While there was no shower in our room, we basically had the small onsen areas to ourselves (men & women separate but fully nude only) or only a few other people. It's peaceful and has a homey feel with unique decor touches that we loved. From the bookshelves and records in the chill lounge area to in-room tea set with tasty green tea, it's a perfect place if you don't want the usual "formal hotel" vibe.

The hotel was very clean and tidy, slippers were provided upon entry into lobby so no outside shoes throughout the hotel. The hotel staff were super friendly and helpful, providing all information about the amenities during check-in. They also provided a flashlight when I went out at night, which I thought was a very nice personal touch.

Staff were very kind and informative. At check in, they sat me down & explained everything about the hotel. My room had the most incredible view of Hakone. The hotel was very clean. The bath house was very nice. There was also a neat little lounge room with records and such as well as a foot bath on the first floor. I did not take advantage of these things during my stay but still very nice features! The free breakfast was decent, mostly bread items. I don’t really have any complaints.

This hotel was a very nice place to stay. It was very calm and clean and the stuff was very friendly. It was also very affordable for a beautiful room.

Ryokan was very unique for a first timer like me. Staff were very polite and helpful, and could speak good English which was a big help! Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in a Ryokan for the first time.

Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Japanese style room with beautiful views of the mountains. Had 2 onsens and a foot bath, with lounge areas. Had breakfast and bought dinner nearby.

Excellent séjour dans l’établissement. Malgré la barrière de la langue, l’équipe a toujours été très serviable et gentille. L’hôtel est situé à quelques minutes dans une rue de montagne un peu étroite. Elle est située avec des acces en train depuis Hakone Yamamoto et en bus. Je vous recommande de prendre le Hakone Free Pass pour circuler librement. Le petit déjeuner est assez léger mais inclus. Pour ma part j’ai prévu des repas le soir et le matin dans les Konbini. Les onsen sont très agréables et propres. À cause de fortes pluies, le gérant a eu l’amabilité de m’amener en voiture à la station de bus pour rejoindre la gare de Odawara. Je le remercie. Le confort de la chambre est correct, il n’y a pas de douche donc utilisation obligatoire du bain public pour se laver. Aucun problème de mon côté. Seul changement que je suggère ce serait d’avoir un Chromecast dans les chambres pour pouvoir diffuser du contenu (film) depuis son téléphone.
