Shangri-La Boracay

A really terrible experience. We paid a high premium to book a room with a “sea view”. But Shangri La gave us a room with a Garden view and a very obstructed view of the sea. At checkin the staff were first arguing aggressively that Shangri La room details on Expedia had specified that it was a partial sea view. But we showed in our confirmed Expedia booking that there was no such caveat of partial view in our booking or in how Expedia is currently marketing “sea views” in current Expedia bookings. After a 2-hour shouting match with check in staff when we shows all the evidence, the staff apologized that the result Om offered was not a sea view but the General Manager Hans refused to acknowledged this core mispresentation although - paradoxically- he agreed to “improve how rooms are marketed and communicated”. A disgraceful display of total lack of ethics and integrity. The resort is beautiful but this horrific experience marred our precious vacation. We would urge Expedia to strongly take up this flagrant ethical violation and misrepresentation on the Expedia platform.

This hotel is outstanding and everything about it is 5 star. Starting from breakfast, to amenities and the pristine beaches. We loved it and I highly recommend it!!

I had an outstanding stay at this property. The setting is beautiful and very well maintained. The villas are exceptional with spacious layouts and private dipping pools. The food and service were both excellent. The golf cart system was efficient and made it easy to move around the resort. The gym, spa, and restaurants were also excellent. This is THE best resorts on Boracay Island. I highly recommend it and will definitely return.

My stay at Shangri-La Boracay was disappointing overall. The property as a facility felt heavily worn out, with multiple issues in the room that required repairs. Despite upgrading to a suite, I found myself calling maintenance three, four, even five times to fix different problems, which was extremely inconvenient. The check-in experience was also unacceptable. I originally booked a sea-view room, yet I was given a room without the view I paid for. When I raised the issue, the staff attempted to charge me extra for the sea-view room that was already part of my reservation. This led to a heated discussion until the supervisor got involved. After that, the employee came back trying to frame it as if they “upgraded” me, when in reality, they were simply providing the room category I had already booked. I made it clear that there was no need to present it as a favor. While breakfast was excellent and the restaurant quality was strong, the suite I upgraded to still had several maintenance problems, and the overall condition of the property did not match the brand’s reputation. The spa and massage were also far below expectations. The entire resort feels neglected, lacking the proper upkeep needed to maintain a premium standard.

The place is well-maintained, like new, from the lobby, the on-site restaurants, the guest rooms. The ambience is warm and elegant. The staff are likewise welcoming, respectful unfailingly helpful. Anything you might want in a five star resort. Shangri-la is the only place I will stay

The Shangri-La Boracay was a picturesque paradise that provided us with a great room, view, amenities, friendly staff, great breakfast options and a campus that is second to none. The staff made our stay special and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Very pleasantly surprised. We'll definitely come back!

Could not recommend the ShangriLa enough. We stayed over the Halloween weekend and the lengths staff went to delight their customers was incredible. The speed boat transfer is also so fun.. drummers on arrival too, such a special family vacation! We loved it!!

Unbelievable views, amazing beaches, outstanding customer service & amenities... 11/10!

It was magical. The room was very comfortable with gorgeous views of trees and ocean. What a lovely get away. We really loved the activities that were offered on the property and were sad we couldn't extend a few nights.

Bra hotell och bra service. Fint gym och bra frukost med många val Lunch ofta smaklös tyvärr Flera pooler och fin stränder. Dock en hel del plast men personalen gjorde bra ifrån sig med städningen av stranden

Just...wow. couldnt step 10 feet without staff asking if i needed anything. Beautiful property. Could get prime spots near the pool or beach without having to wait for a seat. If it wasnt for the 18 hour flight for for me, i would go every year.
