Really enjoyed our stay at the Residence Inn. The suites(we had 2) were very spacious and comfortable. I was a bit surprised that the beds couldn’t be separated into twins, as there were clearly 2 single mattresses, topped by a queen mattress. Not every guest at the hotel is a couple, as in our case, a brother and sister( one slept on the sofa bed, which wasn’t as comfortable as the bed. The breakfast was very good, lots of hot and cold choices, great coffee. The breakfast area in the hotel is quite small and breakfast time tended to be chaotic, an issue which I’m sure other guests have commented on.The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location for us was great as it was close to the university, and easy walking distance to the many attractions of beautiful Edinburgh. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family👍👍😀

Overall a good option if you are visiting Edinburgh as a tourist. The area is nice and as it is right by the university, and close to many old city attractions. Do not pay a higher rate for the included breakfast - it’s pretty basic, and the utensils had a bad odor, probably from their dish washer or the mixing of food with utensils during their washing. One of our family members skipped the breakfast for the 3 days we stayed there due to this. Also, found the staff inflexible when I requested a late checkout by 1 hour, which was odd. But for an expensive tourist destination like Edinburgh, this bite is still a good option for Ben with all these challenges.

As the bathroom door is set back the light disturbs the person in the bed nearest the bathroom (brightness woke me up). Television was difficult to watch from both bed & settee. Was very disappointed with room for the cost.

Muito bom! Hotel bem localizado, junto ao campus universitário, zona segura, calma e muito próxima do centro. Os principais pontos turísticos estão todos a uma curta distância. Andamos sempre a pé, para todo o lado. Quartos espaçosos, muito luminosos e limpos. Staff muito amável e simpático. Pequeno almoço apetitoso.

Very pleasant hotel with kind and friendly service staff as well as some nice facilities. It is located basically inside the Edinburgh University campus, which we really liked and close to the old town of Edinburgh.
Only downside was the breakfast buffet situation where there was not enough seats for everyone - regardless of which time slot you went down for breakfast. It is supposed to be a good and relaxing start to your day, but it ended up being quite a nuisance instead.
Otherwise all good.

Nice room and comfy bed. Free breakfast buffet was good quality with plenty of choices, but like a cattle drive. Rude people pushing in front of you and little kids running around unattended touching the food, cutlery, etc. We felt it was a bit unsanitary. It’s amazing how parents have no control over their spawn.

Prima hotel, fijne kamer met een verrassend goed bed. Elke dag werd de kamer gepoetst en kregen we schone handdoeken en beddengoed. Keukentje is heel handig. Old Town en New Town op loopafstand. Taxi ging ook goed en was ook zeker niet te duur. Kortom wij hebben een hele mooie vakantie gehad in Edinburgh.

Spent a week there. It is a great “home away from home”! Excellent staff - friendly and helpful. Included buffet breakfast was awesome! And nice to have a free laundry for extended stays.
