I was so pleased when I arrived at the Old Mill Inn. Travelling on my own caused a few issues like taking a taxi from the train station took almost twice as long because of the road construction. What a picturesque place!
All was great except for the heat wave. The ladies at the desk were suffering with that fan.

We stayed two nights on the first morning our bedroom was cleaned while we were at breakfast. Our suitcases were carried up the stairs to the reception area and back down again when we left.
We were concerned because before we arrived and after booking we discovered car parking was not guaranteed and though we were lucky this time we are not sure if we would risk it again. However when we phoned to question this the lovely lady at reception did offer to move her car if necessary.
We do feel that the Hotel.com website should have mentioned the stairs and the car parking.
The restaurant was lovely with beautiful views. We did not eat in the restaurant apart from breakfast. We felt the menu a bit limited for myself, vegetarian and no tomatoes. The breakfast was a bit disappointing but that was my fault as I should have noticed that the advert said continental breakfast available. So there was yoghurt, fruit juice, croissants, cereal, toast, ham and hard boiled eggs, some unappetising apples and oranges,

The guy who was at reception on the day we arrived was nice and also the lady in the morning. But room is quite small for 3 person. The bed sheet was dirty if you see well.

Check in a bit clunky, it was disclosed but the £10 for parking is a bit of a pain. Just include it in its original fee.
Room was absolutely roasting and getting any kind of breeze was impossible plus the fan in the room is rubbish.
Had no soap in the shower dispenser, was just empty.
Only here for one night thankfully but I would not stay again.
Obviously can't be helped but needing to go over the £1.20 roll bridge is a bit naff too.

The Old Mill is difficult to find if you travel over the small toll bridge. The right turn is very difficult to negotiate so it is easier to go up to the mini roundabout at the top of the hill. Going up the steps to reception I could see that the floor in the main hall was dusty The young lady on reception, Ellie, was very pleasant and efficient. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your luggage up a few steps. The room was a little tired. The furniture is adequate and there is an iron and ironing board which is very useful. Tea and coffee are available. The bathroom had been modernised. The superior room did have a pleasant view over the river and toll bridge. Breakfast was disappointing. There was a wait for a seat as guests outnumbered the number of tables. It is advertised as continental breakfast only but there was little choice. Fruit was a bowl with apples and oranges in. There was white and brown bread for toast. and cereal. Small tubs of yoghurt. The croissants ran out pretty quickly and when the chocolate croissants ran out the staff just emptied a packet in front of me and put them on the plate. Packet ham and cheese was availablea nd boiled eggs. Tea and coffee was self service. Nothing was explained and the staff seemed to be wandering around Some of the tables were left uncleared.
Parking is chargeable at £10 per stay. There is a bus stop at the top of the road so it was easy to get into the centre. Would I stay here again? No I don't think so.

Un po' difficoltoso l'accesso con l'auto al parcheggio.

Nice hotel especially for the price. Our room was lovely and well maintained. The bathroom could’ve done with a spruce up but was functional. No air con so it was hot even with the fan provided. The staff were polite, helpful & friendly. The breakfast was fine, a bit limited but okay. Only one, very busy, member of staff available. A decent stay in an expensive city. I’d recommend!

The staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Our room was in the annexe and didn't feel particularly secure. It was extremely small and felt tired. There was no plug/cover in the bathroom sink and there was a long hair on the top of the cistern. Thankfully we were only staying for one night so it was just somewhere to lay our head.

Room was very compact, smallest wardrobe ever, very little storage or room to move. However the decor was amazing everything that you needed was in the room. Breakfast was a little disappointing as continental very limited choice. Again evening menu was limited but the food was lovely. Location was good, short ride into Bath on a bus, however a very nice pub located a 5 minute walk away. Parking was a little tight but there were always spaces available for a small fee. Staff were always helpful and friendly.

The Old Mill in Batheaston would have once been an amazing venue situated right on the picturesque Avon River, but now, sadly, needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to a better standard. Fixtures and fittings are all good quality but some need a little repair. Air conditioning would be a great addition as room was extremely hot but England was suffering from a heatwave, so it is unlikely that this is a common occurrence. Having said all this, we would happily stay there again.

On arrival at Reception after long journeys on an extremely hot day we were told that the Bar wasn't open, although advertised as open all day, and as our rooms were not available for 15-minutes there was no access to tea, coffee or cold drink. We were directed to a local pub instead! This was a very bad start.
We had booked a table for 6 at 7.30pm in the dining room but hadn't been informed that there was a large screen tv by our table and a raucous crowd surrounded us watching the football. Added to that the table service was very poor and after the main course the plates were not removed until about 9.30 and no dessert list was offered. On finally enquiring at the Bar and complaining that I felt we had been overlooked I was told by the waitress/Bar attendant that the kitchen was no longer taking orders but would enquire. Another waiter then appeared, cleared the table and finally brought dessert menus! The waitress spent most of the evening serving drinks at the Bar so had little time to attend our table. A case of under-staffing which spoilt our evening. We dined elsewhere the following evening!
