Staff were friendly and helpful. Community rooms were spacious and decor good. Bedroom and en suite both cramped and offering insufficient hanging space for clothes, towels, etc. Breakfast quality poor Evening meal menu had insufficient choice, and food quality only average.

There was a musty smell in the passageway leading to our room . Suspect more air circulation needed to eliminate the odour. Otherwise enjoyed the stay.

Overall our stay was excellent especially the lovely pool and gym. The food at dinner time was of a very good standard. The rooms were good and spacious but the mattress too hard. Would definitely recommend.

I loked the facility overall. It was quiet and peaceful

We stayed at the hotel for a friends wedding, they accommodated an early check in and the breakfast and staff were great!

We had to wait quite a while for checking in, as there was nobody at reception. The room was spacious and comfortable but we could hear a lot of noises from outside. Very basic toiletries in the bathroom.

With a lake and stream and woodland. I enjoyed hearing the Tawny Owls hooting just behind the hotel, and seeing the Grey Wagtails taking food to their nest by the lake. The staff were friendly and helpful. Good to have electric vehicle charging on site too!

It was a very pleasant experience. All persons very pleasant. The only thing I found difficult was by being in room 420 there was no indication as to the direction for the pool etc.

Lovely hotel, superb staff, clean, good quality bed and bedding. Guest use of the spa facilities is great.

We were so looking forward to our stay as it was planned as some luxury around cheaper forms of accommodation. The first room we were put in had an air con unit outside the window which was noisy and reception kindly moved us to another room. I was really looking forward to having the room serviced daily however this didn’t happen. One day I left the “come back later” sign on the door (presuming it was requesting the housekeepers to come later in the day, after we left. No one came. The next day I asked a housekeeper to clean the room and I was told I will need to go to reception and request it, which I thought was odd but didn’t have time to go as I was in a rush. The next day the towels were changed only after my partner specifically requested it. Otherwise, the property is lovely in a beautiful location.

Hotel is in a lovely location, looks better in photos than in person, a bit dated in places. The beds are really hard and uncomfortable too. The service from bar and breakfast colleagues was really good. My biggest gripe is that there was no lifts for us to use. We were put 2 floors down from reception and had to carry a baby and all our bits pushchair etc down or up 2 flights of stairs every time we wanted to do something. Staff just watched us each time we saw them with no offer of help. Really poor accessibility for people with babies or disabled as steps everywhere. They have ancient manual lifts which you aren’t allowed to use and have to find a colleague for, who are never around when you need them. Ridiculous in this day and age, you must sort this out as I would not stay again based on this as It ruined our stay. Need to apply logic when a booking comes through given the access issues.

Spa was xlosed for the week whichbwas highly disappointing. I was unaware of this until arriving at the hotel, it would have been polite to mention before i booked as i probably wouldnt have stayed here if i had known.
