Very beautiful hotel. Staff are friendly. Food are great.

Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Lovely food. Comfy large bed. Only down side was bedrooms a bit tired. Wardrobes could do with replacing to match drawers

I booked a superior room for 2 nights with my wife. We arrived about 2.30pm and the room wasn’t ready. There was some confusion from the front desk about our later dinner reservation, the receptionist stated I didn’t have a booking and despite my assertions she didn’t really seem to believe that I had booked it months ago. She said it wasn’t recorded. She only relented when I showed her their messages to me confirming the booking. Anyway, awaiting the room we went to the bar. The staff in the bar were lovely and it was well priced for a hotel, the actual bar was a little cold. When we got into the room, I can’t say it was ‘superior’. It was a little small, cold and not well lit. There was no safe nor minibar/fridge something I would have expected for £162 per night. When I raised this at reception it wasn’t well received, the lady was polite and they did put in a room heater. Evening meal was lovely and again the staff in the bar, where we ate, were lovely and provided a great service. Breakfast on the first morning was a buffet affair and in the main was well cooked. On the second morning breakfast wasn’t as good, my wife had Eggs Benedict but the poached eggs were hard (as were mine) and the Hollandaise sauce was split, we never got the requested toast- poor show chef! The actual grounds at the hotel were beautiful and lovely to walk around the lake and close by canal. Altogether it was a nice stay but not as good as I’d expected.

Beautiful venue. A little dated now. Could do with new mattresses. Children running around the corridors at midnight from a birthday party was a problem. Called the night porter twice and nothing happened so had to deal with it myself.

Absolute gem of a place, everything was wonderful from the accommodation to food and surroundings was absolutely lovely

Excellent dinner and overnight stay. Room well appointed, friendly staff and very good value. First rate breakfast included. Would highly recommend - just off the M6.

Breakfast was self service and good.

Brilliant location but the dinner was mediocre and the you could feel and hear the springs in the mattress so not such a good sleep. They must have had a big rush for breakfast with most tables needing clearing. The breakfast food was cooked to order and all good. The car park was fairly empty when we arrived but filled up in the morning when all the business folk arrived.

Room ok… needs better curtains though! Sadly the breakfast service was a real disappointment - cold plates, lack of hot food, not offered any toast, coffee pretty awful.

Breakfast was superb,

Check in was straight forward and our room was ready before time. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a couple of drinks in the bar then a very tasty meal in the restaurant. Overall a very pleasant experience. Thankyou

All staff were attentive. English breakfast was a wow - just returned from three months in South Africa and missed my english breakfast. Room 104 was very clean and tidy and very quiet to ensure a good nights sleep.

Very comfortable stay with good food selection in the evening and excellent breakfast menu topped of with friendly staff making one feel valued.

Bar offered a very good selection and the breakfast was good but only available between 8 and 10 am. By 9.50 however there was little left and some of the food had been sitting around for too long.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely environment. The staff were friendly and professional, food was good and room was spacious. Definitely recommended.

The whole experience, two nights, was excellent. The room was very large, well fitted and although we did not housekeeping refreshment were replenished, when requested. The food was of high standard and equally matched by the service. Only criticism was poor pressure in the sink hot water tap. It was an accessible room so understand the concern of the hot tap.
