NAIA sits around 7 km south of downtown Manila in Pasay and Parañaque, and handled a record ~52 million passengers in 2025. Since late 2024 the airport has been run by New NAIA Infra Corp (NNIC), a private consortium upgrading power, air-conditioning, escalators, Wi-Fi and immigration queues after years of congestion complaints. The airport's former Terminal 4 closed in November 2024 and was demolished to make way for a new taxiway; a replacement fourth terminal has been discussed but has no confirmed opening date.
