Kempegowda International Airport is Bengaluru's main gateway and one of India's busiest airports. Compare airlines on Traveloka and set a Price Alert to track fares before you book.
Kempegowda International Airport (BLR) sits near Devanahalli, about 35 km north of central Bengaluru — typically a 60–90 minute journey depending on traffic. It's India's third-busiest airport, handling more than 41 million passengers in FY25 across over 700 flights a day, connecting Bengaluru to 109 destinations in around 25 countries.
BLR is a major domestic hub as well as an international gateway, with extensive connections across India and to destinations throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe and beyond. Check current routes and compare carriers before booking, as networks and schedules change.
Air India and IndiGo both operate major hubs at BLR, and the airport also serves as a focus city for a number of international carriers.
BLR has two terminals connected by a central processor building. Terminal 1 (T1) is the original terminal and now handles all domestic flights. Terminal 2 (T2), which opened in November 2023, handles international flights along with select domestic flights operated by AirAsia India and Star Air.
The airport is about 35 km from the city centre. Options include prepaid taxis, rideshare, and dedicated airport bus services (BMTC Vayu Vajra) connecting to various parts of Bengaluru. Confirm current transfer options and travel times before you travel, as city traffic can extend the journey significantly.
Both terminals offer dining, retail and duty-free shopping, lounges, free Wi-Fi and business facilities. T2 is particularly known for its greenery-filled, garden-style architecture, a distinctive feature compared with most large international terminals.
