Kobe Airport is Kobe's own airport, built on an artificial island in Osaka Bay. Compare flights and set a Price Alert with Traveloka before you fly into the Kansai region.
Opened in 2006 on a 156-hectare man-made island just off central Kobe, UKB is the smallest and newest of the three airports serving the greater Osaka/Kansai area, alongside Kansai International and Osaka Itami. It handled around 3.5 million passengers in 2024.
Domestic services are flown by ANA, Skymark, Solaseed Air, Air Do, Fuji Dream Airlines and Toki Air. A smaller number of international routes to nearby Asian destinations are served by Korean Air, Juneyao Air, Starlux Airlines and EVA Air.
UKB is compact by design — domestic flights use Terminal 1, and the limited international services use the smaller Terminal 2, keeping check-in, security and boarding close together.
The Port Liner, an elevated automated train, connects the airport directly to Kobe-Sannomiya Station — Kobe's main rail hub — in under 20 minutes for a 340 yen fare. From Sannomiya, connections continue on to Osaka and Kyoto. Taxis are also available outside the terminal.
Expect the basics done well: free Wi-Fi, a handful of restaurants and cafés, a few shops for local souvenirs, and currency exchange, in keeping with the airport's compact, efficient layout.
