We were disappointed in our stay at Newstar. The shower didn't work properly (either scalding or freezing water) and the drain stoppers were missing on both the tub and the sink. The mini-fridge in the room was barely cool (slightly below room temperature) and the room floor needed repair. The bed was comfortable (good mattress and plenty of pillows) and there was adequate parking. There was no closet, only 4 hooks and 3 drawers. There was an iron, but no ironing board. There were bath towels and wash cloths, but no hand towels. The walls were thin and loud neighbors woke me up in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, the hotel bar wouldn't let us charge to the room and didn't take credit cards, cash only. The location is good, right off of the highway, with restaurants within walking distance. The room and overall property were clean and the staff was pleasant.

When you enter the hotel the appearance was horrible, old dirty floor carpets, smokers outside and the smell got all the way to the inside of the room and the hallways. Staff was not too polite, I guess it's cultural.

C est je recois des courriers 3 ou 4 fois avant d'arriver. Et rendu dur place je me retrouve dsns une chsmbre a drux lits doubles alors que j avais choisi un lit queen. P e c etait ecrit dans le courriel j pas verifier

Second time staying there. Room is clean etc. but there are other guests that are up all night. In and out of rooms. Making noise. Doors open and shut until 4 am. They need to have someone monitoring the hallways to ensure peace and quiet after midnight.

Unfortunately had to cut our trip short due to severe weather but the hotel was very good for the price. Comfortable bed and clean room. A little out from downtown but plenty of public transport nearby.

Had to changed room 3 times, the first one had a strong smell of cigarette smoke like some been loving there for years…. The second room had an animal smell almost like a horse ranch, the third one was not smelling bad but the cleanliness was not the best. Will never go there again and certainly won’t recommend anyone to go there.

Great location and comfortable suite. We were on the first floor and still got a quiet night and lots of rest. The bed and pillows were fantastic, towels were fluffy, and we had plenty of space. I missed having a microwave, but not a deal-breaker. The property was smoke-free, however, there was a strong smell of cigarretes at the entrance hallway from folks smoking right outside the door and walking in - I would suggest having a designated smoking area a bit further away from the entrance. Restaurant was conveniently located by the reception and staff was incredibly friendly, despite my lack of proficiency in french. Overall, excellent stay.

The pictures do not align with the reality of the property. The Expedia ad portrays a boutique hotel however that was not the reality of the hotel that we stayed in. This is a transient Motel and the rooms are not reflective of what the ad shows online. Do not book this place unless yiu see it in person first.
