I had a large apartment and everything needed. It was well equipped, good position to enjoy Brisbane and the South Bank. Friendly staff. Apartment could do with a little updating and the carpet showed plenty of wear. However this didn’t really impact my stay and it was exceptionally clean

The staff are all excellent! Can't wait to stay there again. If you care about the ware and tare of an old property it's probably not for you, but I found little things like the tap handle falling off oddly charming. Can confirm there are no ghosts.

First of all, I have absolutely no doubt that this building was majestic in its day, but its day was some time ago. I had the misfortune to arrive very shortly before tropical cyclone Alfred, and whilst I appreciate that such things are a rare occurrence for the area, the lack of preparedness at the hotel did shock and disappoint me somewhat. For example, I was told that there were no torches for hotel guests in the event of a power cut, and had to request bottles of water. As for the room itself, it was a great size, and the bathroom looked to have been recently renovated to a good standard. However, most of the TV channels did not work, and the hotel WiFi was abysmal to the point of it being practically non-existent. I broached this subject with staff, and my complaint was dismissed immediately because "the WiFi is complimentary". The remainder of the room was incredibly dated and had a musty smell. I also had no working phone in my room and was told that was a conscious decision by the apartment's owner. There was an incessantly loud banging noise coming from the floor above me for most of my stay, which would last for hours at a time; it made sleeping incredibly difficult at times. The location of the hotel is excellent, and all of the staff I interacted with were polite, if occasionally inattentive(my washing machine developed a fault which was never addressed). A special mention to the wonderful lady who helped me with my luggage. I would not stay here again.

I really did have a good time staying here. Not my usual type of stay but glad I gave it a shot. The hotel and the area it’s located in is like a step back in time. And I do like a bit of history. Check in was easy. Staff friendly. Room was spacious with amenities that would have been more helpful to me if I wasn’t running about trying to see what Brisbane had to offer. Bed wasn’t the plush type but comfortable non the less. The entry to hotel has a little cafe which was nice to stop, gather thoughts, meet other visitors and get some insight. Close to main downtown area of city and botanical gardens. Loads of different Asian restaurants in area, good for the later night munchies, and even a historic cinema a stones throw away. I’d stay there again.

I would rate this place 4.5 stars only because the unit we stayed in appeared to be under renovation and it looks like some of the hooks in the bathroom were missing (but seriously i am being petty!) It is an amazing place to stay and well worth the money we paid for 2 nights.
