I stay at the Thistle whenever I am flying via Heathrow. Staff are excellent - very helpful and friendly. I stayed in a deluxe room. It has ironing facilities, robes, fridge, safe and coffee maker. Air con system is powerful - a necessity in London. I didn’t use the bar or restaurant this time, but I have in the past and the meal choices were simple and tasty. They also have room service up to 9:30pm. It is no frills but has everything you need at a very reasonable price point. I also use the POD to get to the Heathrow terminals and onward travel. Look forward to staying again in September.

Nice room with its on air con unit, which was really appreciated as some units you find in the likes of premier inn don’t cope well in this heat. Friendly staff who are happy to help. Location is superb and it has plenty of parking. There are also intermediate exits/entrances so that you don’t need to lug around with your suitcases. Couple of downsides, the placement of the toilet in the bathroom is such that you struggle to sit straight as there was no room for my left leg. I am sure even a child would struggle to fit their leg in between the wall and the toilet and to make matters worse the toilet holder digs into your. Another thing that irritated me was the discretionary tipping when you order food, I missed this when ordering food the first night and accidentally ended up tipping. I don’t mind providing tips but would like to be asked first especially when it’s not mandatory and the service provided was ordinary at best. Their excuse to this was that it is mentioned in the menu in small print and that they assume the customers have already read and agreed to it. Finally, when checking in I had to wait 10/15 mins to be seen by someone. Considering how busy and big the hotel is I did not think 1 person at the desk was sufficient as there were others in the staff room behind. Overall, although it may sound like a negative review, I had a very pleasant stay, the food was brilliant and I’ll definitely consider this hotel again for future stays.

We had a fantastic stay and would happily return. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing night's sleep. The food was excellent, with a great choice and everything we tried was delicious. One of the highlights of our stay was watching the planes take off and land at Heathrow Airport – it was fascinating and made for a unique experience. Parking was available on-site for £18 per night, which we found convenient. There is also a charge to use the gate that provides access to the Heathrow Pod service, this was around £8 each, making it incredibly easy and quick to get to the airport. Overall, the hotel offered great value, friendly service, comfortable accommodation, and an excellent location for Heathrow. We'd definitely recommend it to anyone travelling through the airport.

Check in was fast via the self service tablets. The room was small but adequate for two with big cases for the night. Good air conditioning. The beds were so comfy so I slept well. Very conveniently situated next to a bus stop serving terminal 5. I’ve stayed here before and would gladly stay here again.

The pod shuttle worked fine on the way there, but was not running the next morning when I needed to get to the airport. I had to try to find a bus, which took longer than expected. Probably not the hotels fault, but it was one reason I booked the hotel and made the return very inconvenient. I wouldn’t stay again if the mood is unreliable. They could use more staff in reception. When checking out in the morning only one person available and a long line. Nice rooms and restaurant.

Access to hotel from airport is difficult. There is no shuttle and the walk from the “POD” was long and difficult. The a/c was not working or set too high in common areas. Few amenities. However, the room was small and a bit dated, they were spotlessly clean. It’s not much of a hotel, but it served its purpose. Oh, and coffee machine in lobby wasn’t working. Instant coffee in the room with kettle.
