Stayed here for 3 nights on a nice little trip to Berlin. We chose the hotel for both location and the appearance of the rooms. We ungraded to the family suite mainly for the convenience of a bit more space and a separate seating area. We were still very surprised to find how big the room was when we arrived, with a spacious 4 piece bathroom, completely separate dressing room and the lounge area separated from the bedroom (by a half wall). We were unexpectedly surprised to read a few days before departure we had unknowingly granted ourselves access to the Level Lounge, a wonderful quiet space for morning breakfast and a welcome chilled out area in the evenings with good tapas and drinks, all complimentary. Would absolutely stay in a Meliá branded hotel again and upgrade the room for this experience.

The bathtub in the shower toward the drain bottom portion of the tub is very narrow for guys with my size feet 11 1/2, its very hard to stand there and maneuver, also there is no anti slip mat in the tub.. I nearly slipped trip twice. I'm an oldie an managed no to fall, but some may not. Other wise it a perfect location for site seeing beautiful Berlin.

Very minimalist hotel with no amenities at all but polite staff. Did not try the high priced breakfast. The location is very convenient, near Friedrichstrasse subway station, Museuminsel, Dussmann book store, and many places to eat.

Loved the location, loved the service, loved the Level 7 amenities….BUT why was it so difficult to get in the front entrance door? There was no doorman and when you located the functional door, it weighed a ton. I had reserved a superior or deluxe room with a river view; but it did not look or feel superior. The view was simply not worth talking about,(it basically overlooked the tram tracks.). When we upgraded to Level 7, there was no view, but it was quiet and the room was much nicer and everything else was perfect.!

Nice building and location. Needs some upkeep to be ranked higher, especially at its price point. Booked 2 rooms, initially for 3 people, but then added a fourth, keeping the number of rooms the same. Yet the hotel charged 10 Euros extra per night for the second person, despite not taking up any more space, which is something I have previously not encountered. Also, one of the elevators was out of service for our entire stay. Hallway carpets also looked rather worn. Worst, the AC was not working our first night. I was able to sleep in the heat, but not my spouse, who tried to get help at the front desk but was told hotels in Europe don't have AC! That has also not been my experience in years past. I suppose there was little the front desk could do about the situation late at night, but a better way to respond would be to apologize and promise to send someone to look at the system in the morning. We spent the night with the door open to try and lower the temperature with little success, but the street noise on a Saturday night was quite disturbing. The next morning as I was going out for a while I asked the front desk to have someone look at the cooling problem and was told someone would be sent. But after I returned 2 hours later my spouse informed me no one had been by. I then went back to the front desk and spoke with Ahmed, who sent Lucas right away, who was able to open a vent above a false ceiling which fixed the problem. Both Ahmed and Lucas deserve some recognition.

Melia was within walkable distance to Museum Island. Excellent. It was also walkable to restaurants and entertainment performances. I really appreciated taking it all in. The food tour on Viator also took place near Melia.
