Princess Hostel Amsterdam

Great location. Great views from the room. Bathrooms dirty, showers didn’t work.

Showers were not nor king and they lie about fixing the problem. The staff do not pick up the trash from the trash bin in the room, the toilets are constantly dirty with no attention from staff who are constantly smoking in the entrance.

I left there with a lot of bug bites. I would not recommend staying there at all! Staff was friendly

Simple put, nothing was working. No hot water, not even a single shower was working in the whole hostel. They need to sort this out.

Suitable and good condition

This was the worst hostel experience I’ve ever had. The rooms were dirty and the atmosphere was very unsafe. There were drug addicts in my room who told me they were living there permanently. They did all sorts of drugs. Nothing matched the positive reviews, and I felt completely misled. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!

This Hostel is in a great location in Amsterdam, just a 5 minute walk from museums, the Vondelpark, restaurants and downtown Amsterdam. We stayed in a double room which was very tiny but did the job. I will say it was not the cleanest, the room could have used a vacuum and a wipe down of windows and surfaces in general. The shower room was very dirty, very limited water pressure and only cold water. I heard theres hot water sometimes in the morning. Overall, great location, we felt safe but it was smelly and dirty.

Bed bugs were in the room

There were bed bugs in my bed! A lot of them! That was gross.. Also you need to pay 6 euros for a freakin towel and they only accept cash because their credit card machine is broken. So I ended up not using a towel

They don't accept luggage to keep, receptionist won't accept it. It was a very small space. Reception desk was beside the kitchen. Non-smoking place but the girl who was assigned to my room was smoking WEED so I had to move! Rooms were so small, like 5sqms I guess. They don't clean the rooms. They don't sweep, mop, nor vacuum them. Lights switch was broken, doors knobs were broken at the toilets and there was no hot water! Other electricity sockets were not working and my roommate had to ask several times. The location was very good, just 20-50meters was the tram, very nearby the museums, restaurants, parks, city center.

try to avoid this hostel at all costs! I got serious bedbug bites and an allergic reaction ....... PLUS the staff is just cold and rude, not willing to help at all. Worst Hostel I've ever stayed

I was extremely dissatisfied. As soon as I arrived and spoke with the management, I was told that all rooms were booked, and they had no availability! I had to find another place to stay, which caused me a lot of inconvenience. I have used the Hotels.com app several times before and have always been satisfied, but this time, I was very disappointed. I paid around 100 euros for 4 nights, and I am very unhappy with what happened. I felt frustrated and angry. I also wrote a letter to the hotel management requesting a refund, but I have not received any reimbursement. I hope you will look into this matter; otherwise, you risk losing a very loyal customer.

Found bed bugs in our rooms and had to vacate the place as soon as possible. Haven’t received any word on compensation.

Was not allowed to leave luggage, despite the employee who checked me in the night before and the website saying so, I was told that they would not look after my luggage while I headed out for the day which as you can imagine was extremely inconvenient. Additionally, the place has bed bugs, I've returned home with bites and itchy skin all over my body. I'm surprised they are still allowed to operate in this manor with all of the previous complaints of the same issue.

I should have read the reviews before booking. After my 4 night stay I can confirm all or most of the negative reviews: my single room had no blinds or curtains; the bathroom was not clean or tidy (a piece of plastic was hanging around for several days in the shower). the toilet was blocked! and on two mornings there was no toilet paper. Worst of all after night 3 I had insect bites all over by body, I am not sure if these were bed bugs or moscito bites. Terrible experience .....

Terrible hostel!!! Upon checking in, receptionist was extremely rude and when asked for a bottom bunk said no. But upon checking the room bottom bunks seemed available so I asked him again and he rudely said “I said no once, we close the conversation”. No welcome or have a nice stay. I also said I wasn’t sure which bed was mine. He rudely said “sir, are you okay?” and pointed to the number he wrote on the business card. However, I am attaching a video showing only 2 of 6 beds in Room 105 were marked so he’s the one that is disorganized and should be chastised. I then said he was very rude and I was travelling for 24 hours. He said “you make me laugh”. Really nice and professional isn’t it? Additionally: This place is FILTHY and DIRTY. There was no hand soap in the washrooms on most of all 3 floors, no toilet paper, no mirrors in the toilets on any floors to do your hair, no hair dryers, no towels, and cold water throughout the stay. The sink in Room 105 also wasn’t working as the second video shows. Wifi also wasn’t working well throughout the stay. Finally, dust and dirt is everywhere and coming out of the bathroom fans in huge clumps showing they haven’t cleaned the HVAC in months, if not years. It’s ironic considering the website says “friendly”. The receptionist made me feel unwelcome and unsafe and I was about to leave and go elsewhere.

The beds had literal bed bugs that bit everyone! Don’t visit

i had a good enough time. showers on second floor are awful but 3rd floor is good. cant speak on first floor. There is bed bugs!!

Convenient location, but property is gnarly. No ventilation, extremely hot, bedbugs, dirty walls, nowhere to store bags in a safe way.

This maybe would have been fine if it was cheap, but for a private room booking it was comparable to a hotel in price, but way worse in quality. We ended up leaving after a few hours and finding something better. I should have paid more attention to the reviews but the photos are very misleading
