Lempuyangan Train Station

Lempuyangan Station is a train station located in Yogyakarta City. This station is only about one kilometer to the east of the city's main station, namely Yogyakarta Station or Tugu Station. Lempuyangan Station was inaugurated on March 2, 1872 by the Dutch East Indies private railway company called Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij (NIS). The station name is taken from the name of the area located there, namely Tegal Lempuyangan Village. With its strategic location, Lempuyangan Station is easy to reach. Lempuyangan Station is served by a number of transportation modes, ranging from Trans Jogja buses, public taxis, to motorcycle taxis.

A legendary train station

Lempuyangan Station was built more than a decade ago, to be precise in the 1800s. This makes Lempuyangan Station a legendary station in Indonesia. In fact, in Yogyakarta itself, this station is the first and oldest station that stands there.
