Hotels near Cape Rachado Lighthouse

Cape Rachado is also known as Tanjung Tuan. It is around 18 kilometres from the city of Port Dickson. It was however administered by the state of Melaka. It is a nature’s attraction where it has hilly cape in a forest reserve and a wildlife sanctuary. Also at the hill, locates a lighthouse.

The climb takes roughly around 20 minutes. It is fairly an easy climb as the track has been paved for vehicles. There is a guard house at the beginning of the climb therefore you can inform him before you make the climb in case of any emergencies.

The lighthouse was built in 1817 and was reconstructed in 1863. Once you reach the lighthouse you should be able to see the scenery surrounds it. However you are not allowed to go inside the lighthouse. The admission fee to climb up the lighthouse is only RM1.

How to Get There

By Car

Visitors may drive to Cape Rachado by taking the Kuala Lumpur – Seremban Expressway heading towards Port Dickson. Then they may take Seremban – Port Dickson Expressway to continue their journey towards Cape Rachado.

By Train

Visitors may take a KTM train from Kuala Lumpur Central towards Seremban. It will take around 1.5 to 2 hours ride. From there, visitors will need to take the bus or taxi to go to Cape Rachado.

Port Dickson Ostrich Show Farm

This is a farm where ostriches are bred. Besides ostriches there are also rabbits, camel, donkeys, horses as well as goats and chickens. Visitors may pet the animals as they are very tame. There is also a small café where they sell ostrich meat skewers for those who wish to try it. Besides petting animals, there is also an ATV where visitors may ride. The admission fee to this farm is RM 15 for adults and RM 10 for children.
