Mydin is a Malaysian chain of hypermarket, supermarket and emporiums. It is the largest hypermarket chain in Malaysia as a wholesaler and retailer. Mydin was founded in 1918 by Gulam Husen Jamal in the state of Penang. As he died, his son takes over his business and develops Mydin to a more successful level. Mydin started to expand his branch to other states in Malaysia and now Mydin has grown steadily with a total of 267 outlets including hypermarkets, emporiums, convenience stores, F&B stores and a few more.

How to Get There

By Car

If you choose to drive to Kuala Ibai, head off to Kuantan via Tun Razak Highway. After passing Kuantan, drive further and pass by a few popular towns such as Chukai, Kerteh, Dungun. After at least a five to six hours journey, you will reach Kuala Ibai in Kuala Terengganu. Slowly search for the Mydin Emporium in Kuala Ibai.

By Bus

From Kuala Lumpur, you can get your bus ticket and depart at Integrated South Terminal (TBS) straight to Kuala Terengganu. The journey will be about six hours. From the bus terminal, get a taxi to take you to Mydin Emporium, Kuala Ibai.

By Plane

From Subang Airport or KLIA2, get a domestic either Firefly, Malindo Air, AirAsia or Malaysia Airlines to Kuala Terengganu. From the airport, you will have to take a taxi to Mydin Emporium, Kuala Ibai.

Badariah Palace

Badariah Palace was firstly operated at 8.00 a.m. on Monday, 22nd January 1940 or 12th Zulhijjah 1358 following Islamic calendar. The palace ground measures up to 41.844 acres or 16.933 hectares wide in Jalan Sultan Mahmud, 20400 Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. Badariah Palace became the official residence of the 14th and the 15th Sultan of Terengganu. The interesting and beautiful structural designs on display at the palace becomes the national and state heritage. Royal occasions and greetings for important state visitors are frequently held at this palace.

Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque

The Tengku Tengah Zaharah Mosque is well known as Floating Mosque. It is the first real floating mosque in Malaysia. It is situated in Kuala Ibai Lagoon which is 4 kilometres away from Kuala Terengganu Town. The mosque was officially opened in July 1995 by the late Sultan of Terengganu, Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah. The white mosque combines modern and Moorish architecture which incorporate the use of marble, ceramics, mosaic and brominate paving. It covers an area of 5 acres and capable to accommodate up to 2000 visitors at a time.
