Gorontalo is a province of Indonesia on the island of Sulawesi located on the Minahasa Peninsula. The airport is named after Djalaluddin Tantu, a colonel of the Indonesian Air Force from Gorontalo, who died during the Indonesia-Malaysia Confrontation in Malaysia when his C-130 Hercules was shot down. 1. Bolihutuo Beach-Also known as also as Boalemo Indah Beach, Bolihutuo Beach is located in Bolihutuo village, Botumoito sub-district, Boalemo district, Sulawesi Utara Province. 3. Otanaha Fortress-Otanaha Fortress is one of the popular attractions in Gorontalo province. Built-in 1522 by King Ilato from the Gorontalo Kingdom and Portuguese sailors, this fortress acts to strengthen the area security and defense. It is comprised of a mixture of sand, calcium, and eggs of Maleo birds. There are 348 steps, which separated into four stopovers which are 52 steps from the base to the first stopover, 83 steps from first to second stopover, 53 seconds to third stopover and 89 steps from third to the fourth stopover. Once you reach the top, you can see the magnificent view of Limboto Lake and some part of Gorontalo region.
