About Kalibo - Boracay

Kalibo is a first-class municipality and capital of the province of Aklan, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 80,605 people. Kalibo is located in the north-west of Panay. It is the main transportation hub for the resort island of Boracay. The word "bakhawan", in the local dialect, means "mangrove".


2. Tigayon Hill - Tigayon is a barangay of Kalibo, Aklan, the Philippines where the highest peak and the only hill of Kalibo are located. Three kilometers away from the Kalibo town center is the only hill in Kalibo, Tigayon Hill. It is a limestone outcropping by the river. There is supposed to be a viewpoint at the top to see the river, but it has too many trees obscuring the scenery - there is hardly anything to see. This hill will have an observation tower for tourist to have a better view when they reach on top of the hill.
