It was a pleasant stay at the Wing Hotel. I stayed at the Wing Hotel Kualanamu Airport on July 14, 2026, and checked out on July 15, 2026. The hotel is close to the airport, and there is a shuttle bus service, which is free to and from the airport. I happened to take the 7:30 AM WIB shuttle bus to the airport yesterday. The distance from the hotel to the airport is about 10 minutes. The hotel staff was also very good and friendly. The hotel room was quite spacious, clean, and comfortable. Next trip, I will stay at the Wing Hotel Kualanamu Airport again.

All the hotel staff I encountered, including the security guards, the front desk, and the cleaning staff, were very friendly. I was also very grateful that the power was still out in my area when I checked out, so I left my child's breast milk at the hotel to prevent it from spoiling, and the staff allowed me to do so.

The staff was friendly, and when I went there, there was a free airport drop-off promotion, and it was indeed free, even though I was the only one with a 5 a.m. departure time. I was still delivered on time with excellent service. Thank you, Quadrant. I was traveling from Java to Medan for work and chose to stay at Quadrant because it was close to the airport and had a shuttle service.

It’s a place where the scent of spices mingles with the fresh air, and where ancient traditions coexist with modern aspirations, promising a journey that is both enriching and refreshingly unpretentious.

The diverse character of Hamparan Perak is immediately apparent as one explores its various districts. From the bustling commercial hubs to serene natural retreats, each area offers a distinct flavour. Batang Kuis, for instance, serves as a crucial gateway, with its proximity to the airport facilitating easy arrivals and departures. Sibolangit, on the other hand, draws with its cooler climes and natural attractions, offering a respite from the tropical heat. Further afield, areas like Beringin, Tanjung Morawa, Percut Sei Tuan, Deli Tua, and Sunggal each contribute to the region's multifaceted appeal, presenting a spectrum of experiences that cater to different travel preferences, from the adventurous explorer to the comfort-seeking visitor.

In terms of value, Hamparan Perak stands out as an attractive destination for international travellers. With an average nightly rate that can be significantly lower than in more established tourist hotspots, it offers a chance to stretch your travel budget further without compromising on the quality of your experience. For instance, a comfortable stay can often be found for as little as ₱1,000-₱2,000 per night, making it an accessible option for those from the United States, Europe, and India. This affordability extends to local transportation, dining, and activities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves more deeply in the local culture and enjoy a longer, more fulfilling trip.

The accommodation landscape in Hamparan Perak reflects this diverse appeal, offering options to suit every traveller. You’ll find well-regarded establishments like AKR Corporindo. PT Tbk - Medan, which provides a solid base for business or leisure, and Apotik Sriwijaya, offering a more localized and perhaps simpler lodging experience. These examples highlight the range available, from functional and convenient stays to those that offer a more personal touch. For those planning their Indonesian adventure, exploring these options is a crucial step, and with Traveloka, you can easily book hotel rooms that fit your needs and budget, ensuring a smooth start to your journey.

Ultimately, Hamparan Perak is a destination that rewards the curious and the open-minded. For travellers from the United States, it offers an escape from the familiar, a chance to engage with a culture that is both rich and accessible. European visitors might find themselves drawn to the historical undertones and the potential for exploring unique cultural heritage sites. Indian travellers, often seeking value and vibrant culinary experiences, will find Hamparan Perak’s affordability and diverse food scene particularly appealing. While direct connections might be less common for travellers from Africa, the region’s growing connectivity and the general affordability of travel within Southeast Asia make it an intriguing option for those looking to explore new horizons.

Best Areas to Stay in Hamparan Perak

Hamparan Perak is a region of diverse character, with distinct neighbourhoods and districts each offering a unique atmosphere and set of attractions. For international visitors, understanding these differences is key to crafting an ideal itinerary. Choosing your base wisely will significantly shape your experience, whether you prioritize proximity to the airport, access to natural landscapes, or immersion in local urban life. This guide will help you navigate the most appealing areas to stay, ensuring your visit to Hamparan Perak is both comfortable and memorable.

Batang Kuis

Batang Kuis is often the first point of contact for many international travellers arriving in Hamparan Perak, primarily due to its convenient location near Kualanamu International Airport (KNO). This area offers a practical and convenient base, especially for those with early morning or late-night flights. While it might lack the overt tourist attractions of other districts, its strength lies in its accessibility and the range of airport-adjacent accommodations. For travellers from the Philippines, the ease of transition from flight to hotel makes Batang Kuis a sensible starting point for their Indonesian adventure.

From Batang Kuis, accessing the wider Hamparan Perak region is straightforward. The airport itself serves as a major hub, with regular transport links connecting to Medan and other key areas. Within Batang Kuis, you'll find a selection of hotels catering to transit passengers and business travellers, offering essential amenities for a comfortable stay. While local dining options might be more modest, the convenience factor is paramount. For those looking to explore beyond the immediate vicinity, arranging transport from here is relatively simple, allowing for day trips to more culturally rich or naturally scenic parts of North Sumatra.

Sibolangit

Sibolangit offers a refreshing contrast to the more urbanized areas of Hamparan Perak, presenting itself as a tranquil escape into nature. This district is characterized by its cooler climate, lush greenery, and proximity to natural attractions, making it an ideal destination for travellers seeking relaxation and outdoor activities. The vibe here is distinctly more laid-back, with a focus on natural beauty and a slower pace of life. European travellers, in particular, might appreciate the serene environment and the opportunity to connect with nature, reminiscent of some highland retreats they may be familiar with.

The primary draw of Sibolangit lies in its natural landscapes, including waterfalls and hiking trails, offering a perfect opportunity to book attractions and explore the surrounding wilderness. Accommodation here ranges from resorts offering comprehensive amenities to more rustic guesthouses. Getting to Sibolangit typically involves a drive from Kualanamu International Airport, a journey that showcases the changing scenery as you move away from the city. For those looking to unwind and experience the natural side of Hamparan Perak, Sibolangit is an excellent choice.

Tanjung Morawa

Tanjung Morawa is a dynamic district within Hamparan Perak that balances industrial activity with developing residential and commercial zones. It serves as a vital economic area, attracting business travellers and those involved in the region's manufacturing and logistics sectors. However, it also offers a growing number of amenities and accommodations that cater to a broader range of visitors. The atmosphere is one of active development and local commerce, providing a glimpse into the working life of the region. This makes it a practical choice for travellers who need convenient access to industrial areas or are looking for well-connected, albeit less tourist-centric, lodging.

For travellers staying in Tanjung Morawa, convenience is a key advantage. The area is well-served by transport links, making it relatively easy to reach from the airport and to travel to other parts of Hamparan Perak. You’ll find a variety of hotels here, from budget-friendly options to mid-range establishments, many of which are geared towards business travellers but are equally welcoming to tourists. Local eateries and small markets provide opportunities to sample regional cuisine. Its strategic position makes it a good base for exploring both the industrial landscape and venturing out to nearby natural attractions.

Percut Sei Tuan

Percut Sei Tuan is a coastal district that offers a different perspective on Hamparan Perak, with its proximity to the sea and a more local, community-focused atmosphere. This area is less about grand tourist attractions and more about experiencing everyday Indonesian life. It’s a place where you can find bustling local markets, traditional fishing communities, and a more authentic feel of the region. For travellers who prefer to step away from the typical tourist trail and engage with local culture, Percut Sei Tuan provides an interesting base, particularly for those interested in coastal life and local culinary delights.

The practicalities of staying in Percut Sei Tuan involve embracing a more local pace. Accommodation options here might include guesthouses and smaller hotels that offer a more intimate experience. While it may not have the extensive range of amenities found in more developed tourist zones, it provides a genuine insight into the lives of the people of Hamparan Perak. Access from Kualanamu International Airport is feasible, though it might involve a longer journey compared to areas closer to the airport. For those seeking an off-the-beaten-path experience, Percut Sei Tuan offers a unique charm.

Deli Tua

Deli Tua presents a more suburban and residential character within the Hamparan Perak region, offering a quieter alternative to the bustling city centres. This area is characterized by its local communities, schools, and a more relaxed pace of life. It’s a place where you can observe daily routines and experience a less commercialized side of Indonesian living. For travellers who appreciate a more grounded and authentic experience, and perhaps wish to stay closer to local families or friends, Deli Tua provides a comfortable and familiar setting, away from the main tourist crowds.

Staying in Deli Tua means immersing yourself in a more local environment. You'll find a range of local eateries and small shops catering to the residents, offering a chance to try authentic Indonesian dishes at local prices. Accommodation might be more limited compared to prime tourist areas, potentially including smaller hotels or homestays. Getting to Deli Tua from Kualanamu International Airport is a manageable journey, and from here, you can access other parts of Hamparan Perak for sightseeing. It’s a good option for travellers seeking a peaceful base with a genuine local feel.

Sunggal

Sunggal is a district that embodies the dynamic growth and development characteristic of the Hamparan Perak region. It’s an area that blends residential neighbourhoods with commercial and industrial zones, reflecting the evolving economic landscape of North Sumatra. For travellers, Sunggal offers a practical base, particularly if their visit is related to business or if they seek accommodations that are well-connected to various parts of the region. The atmosphere is one of a working city, with a local feel that provides a contrast to more tourist-focused destinations, appealing to those who want to see a more functional side of Indonesia.

The advantage of staying in Sunggal lies in its connectivity and the availability of essential services. You’ll find a range of hotels and guesthouses that cater to both local residents and visitors, often at competitive prices.
