It was a pleasant stay at the Wing Hotel. I stayed at the Wing Hotel Kualanamu Airport on July 14, 2026, and checked out on July 15, 2026. The hotel is close to the airport, and there is a shuttle bus service, which is free to and from the airport. I happened to take the 7:30 AM WIB shuttle bus to the airport yesterday. The distance from the hotel to the airport is about 10 minutes. The hotel staff was also very good and friendly. The hotel room was quite spacious, clean, and comfortable. Next trip, I will stay at the Wing Hotel Kualanamu Airport again.

All the hotel staff I encountered, including the security guards, the front desk, and the cleaning staff, were very friendly. I was also very grateful that the power was still out in my area when I checked out, so I left my child's breast milk at the hotel to prevent it from spoiling, and the staff allowed me to do so.

The staff was friendly, and when I went there, there was a free airport drop-off promotion, and it was indeed free, even though I was the only one with a 5 a.m. departure time. I was still delivered on time with excellent service. Thank you, Quadrant. I was traveling from Java to Medan for work and chose to stay at Quadrant because it was close to the airport and had a shuttle service.

For Filipino travellers seeking an authentic Indonesian adventure beyond the usual tourist trails, Pancur Batu presents a compelling proposition. located within the vibrant province of North Sumatra, this region offers a unique blend of natural beauty, cultural encounters, and accessible adventure that distinguishes it from more frequented Indonesian destinations. While Bali might draw the crowds, Pancur Batu provides a more grounded experience, allowing visitors to connect with local life and explore landscapes that are both serene and captivating. It’s a place where the rhythm of daily life is palpable, offering a genuine glimpse into Indonesian culture away from the polished veneer of mass tourism.

The expansive nature of the Pancur Batu region means that your choice of accommodation and base will significantly shape your journey. From the bustling commercial hubs to the tranquil outskirts, each area offers a distinct flavour. Pancur Batu stands out as an exceptionally value-driven destination for international travellers. With starting prices around ₱ 327.36 per night, it offers a stark contrast to the often higher costs associated with popular Southeast Asian locales. For travellers from the United States, Europe, or India, this affordability translates into greater flexibility for extending stays, indulging in local cuisine, or exploring more attractions without straining the budget. This economic advantage allows for a richer, more immersive travel experience, making Pancur Batu an attractive option for those who prioritize value and authentic experiences.

Best Areas to Stay in Pancur Batu

Pancur Batu and its surrounding districts offer a varied landscape for travellers, each neighbourhood presenting a unique atmosphere and set of advantages. Whether you prioritize proximity to the airport, access to natural landscapes, or a taste of local urban life, selecting the right area to base yourself in Pancur Batu will significantly enhance your overall experience in this dynamic region of North Sumatra.

Pancur Batu

The central Pancur Batu district serves as the administrative and commercial heart of the region, offering a lively and authentic glimpse into local Indonesian life. For international visitors, this area provides a genuine immersion into the daily routines and bustling energy of a Sumatran town. It’s a place where you can easily find local eateries, markets, and essential services, making it a practical base for those who want to be in the thick of things. Travellers seeking an unvarnished cultural experience will find Pancur Batu itself to be a rewarding place to stay.

From this central hub, exploring nearby landmarks like GPdI PNIEL 1 PANCURBATU is straightforward. The area is well-connected by local transport, allowing for easy day trips to surrounding natural attractions or neighbouring towns. You can experience the local culinary scene by sampling street food or dining at modest local restaurants. For those looking to explore further afield, the accessibility of transport links from Pancur Batu makes it a convenient starting point to book attractions and excursions across the wider Deli Serdang regency.

Batang Kuis

Batang Kuis is a strategically important area, primarily due to its close proximity to Kualanamu International Airport (KNO). This makes it an ideal choice for travellers who have early morning or late-night flights, or those who simply prefer to minimize transit time to and from the airport. The vibe here is largely functional, geared towards facilitating travel, but it also offers a range of accommodations that cater to both short-stay transit passengers and longer-term visitors looking for convenient access to air travel.

Staying in Batang Kuis means you are just a short drive from the airport terminals, with many hotels offering shuttle services. This convenience is a major draw for international visitors, particularly those from the Philippines who might be accustomed to longer airport transfers. While Batang Kuis itself may not boast extensive tourist attractions, its primary advantage is its connectivity, allowing for easier onward travel or immediate exploration of other parts of North Sumatra upon arrival.

Sibolangit

For travellers drawn to the natural beauty of North Sumatra, Sibolangit offers a refreshing escape into a greener, more tranquil environment. This area is characterized by its lush landscapes, rolling hills, and cooler climate, making it a popular destination for those seeking respite from the urban bustle. The atmosphere here is serene and laid-back, appealing to visitors who wish to reconnect with nature and enjoy outdoor activities in a picturesque setting. It’s a stark contrast to the more developed areas of Pancur Batu.

Sibolangit is a gateway to natural attractions, including waterfalls and hiking trails, providing ample opportunities for exploration and adventure. The presence of resorts and lodges in this area often means they are designed to complement the natural surroundings, offering guests a peaceful retreat. This district is known for its economic activity, which translates into a good range of amenities and services catering to both residents and visitors. The vibe is generally down-to-earth, providing a realistic perspective on life in a developing Indonesian town, away from the curated experiences often found in major tourist hubs.

Within Tanjung Morawa, you can find various dining options, from local warungs to more established eateries, offering a taste of regional Indonesian cuisine. Its location also provides reasonable access to both the airport and the city of Medan, making it a versatile choice for travellers. For those interested in exploring the immediate vicinity, local markets and community spaces offer opportunities to observe and interact with the local population, providing a more authentic cultural exchange.

While it might not be a primary tourist destination itself, its accessibility to other parts of the Pancur Batu region makes it a viable option. It’s particularly suited for those who might be visiting friends or family in the area, or for travellers who appreciate a more settled environment that still provides good connections to the wider region's attractions and transport links.

Percut Sei Tuan

Percut Sei Tuan is a district that offers a glimpse into a more densely populated urban environment, characterized by its local markets and community life. For international visitors, it provides an opportunity to experience a more typical Indonesian urban setting, with all the associated vibrancy and activity. The area is known for its local flavour, where everyday commerce and social interactions are on full display, offering a diverse mix of sights, sounds, and smells for the curious traveller.

Exploring Percut Sei Tuan allows visitors to engage with local commerce, perhaps finding unique souvenirs or sampling authentic street food. Visa Information

For Philippine passport holders planning to visit Pancur Batu, Indonesia, understanding the visa requirements is crucial. As of current regulations, Filipino citizens are typically granted visa-free entry into Indonesia for tourism purposes for a stay of up to 30 days. This allows for a convenient and straightforward entry process, provided your passport is valid for at least six months from your date of arrival and you possess proof of onward travel, such as a return or onward flight ticket.

The application process for visa-free entry is generally minimal, involving presenting your valid Philippine passport and potentially a return ticket to immigration officials upon arrival at Kualanamu International Airport or other Indonesian entry points. While no visa fee is charged for this visa-exemption, it is imperative to confirm the latest regulations with the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines or the Directorate General of Immigration of Indonesia before your travel, as policies can change.

It is always recommended for travellers to verify the most up-to-date visa policies directly with the official immigration authorities of Indonesia or the Indonesian Embassy in the Philippines prior to booking flights and making travel arrangements. This ensures compliance with all entry requirements and avoids any last-minute complications. While visa-free entry is common, specific circumstances or changes in policy could necessitate a visa application, so proactive confirmation is key to a smooth journey to Pancur Batu.
