Vizag Airport (VTZ), officially Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport, is the airport for Visakhapatnam (Vizag) on the coast of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, off National Highway 16, about 45 km from Visakhapatnam. It is also known as Bhogapuram Airport or Visakhapatnam International Airport. GMR Visakhapatnam International Airport Limited, part of GMR Group, developed it and runs it under a public-private partnership. Passengers use one integrated terminal for both domestic and international flights.

The airport is named after the freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, and the terminal's design draws on the flying fish (Parava Meenu) of the Andhra coast. Its 3,800-metre runway can take wide-body aircraft. Core passenger services run around the clock, and no curfew has been announced.

Airport taxis and rental cars pick up from zones in the parking area just outside the terminal. Allow about 45 minutes to Vizag city centre and about 55 minutes to Visakhapatnam railway station.

Ola, Uber and Rapido have dedicated pick-up zones in the car park ahead of the terminal, and drop off outside departures. The ride into the city takes about 45 to 60 minutes.

Bus

Integrated bus bays sit next to the city side of the terminal, by arrivals. Air-conditioned shuttle and bus services link the airport with key points in Visakhapatnam. Routes are still being finalised, so check the latest at the airport or with the operator.

Driving and parking

Drivers reach the airport straight from NH-16 through the trumpet interchange at Saravalli. Drop-off at the departure forecourt is free, and there is a short free window for picking people up at arrivals. General parking near the terminal covers cars, two-wheelers, buses and commercial vehicles, with short-term and long-term options, accessible bays near the entrances and reserved VIP bays.
