Chongqing Airport (CKG), officially Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, is the main airport for the city of Chongqing in south-west China. It is in Yubei District, within the Liangjiang New Area, about 19 to 21 km north-east of central Chongqing, and Chongqing Airport Group runs it. Passenger flights are handled at T3: the main terminal building, T3A, where everyone checks in, and the T3B satellite concourse, an airside pier for boarding. The airport has four runways that can operate at the same time.
The older terminals are no longer the place to go. T1 has been closed since T3A opened, and recent reports say T2 no longer handles passenger flights and will be refitted. Some older airport pages still mention T2, so treat the terminal on your e-ticket as final.
T3A is the main terminal for domestic and international flights. Check-in, security and baggage reclaim all happen here, including for passengers whose flight boards at T3B. The operator lists these airlines at T3A:
This comes from the operator's per-terminal contact list rather than a full airline directory, so other airlines may fly from CKG too. On a codeshare, look for the operating airline on your e-ticket.
T3B is an airside satellite used for boarding. There is no check-in at T3B and no airline list is published for it, so your boarding pass tells you whether your flight leaves from there.
A driverless monorail people mover links T3A with the T3B satellite on the airside, and the ride takes about 3 minutes. If you board at T3B, allow a little extra time after security.
Most ground transport starts at the Ground Transportation Centre (GTC) in front of T3A. Fares are shown at the station, the counter or in the app.
Chongqing Rail Transit Line 10 has a T3 station at the terminal. Line 3 serves only the T2 area, so it is not the line for current passenger flights.
The K01 airport express bus runs from the terminal to Jiefangbei in the city centre, by way of Jiazhou, Damiao, Shangqingsi and the Great Hall. Allow about 50 to 65 minutes, depending on traffic.
The T3 coach station on level 2 of the GTC has coaches to towns in Chongqing and neighbouring Sichuan.
Taxis pick up at the Ground Transportation Centre in front of T3A.
The GTC multi-storey car park in front of T3A is open 24 hours. The airport does not set out short-term and long-term areas, and rates change, so check at the car park.
At T3A, level 4 is departures and check-in, and level 3 is the international airside area. Domestic arrivals are on level 2 and international arrivals on level 1.
Dining outlets operate in the terminal. The airport does not publish where each one is, so check what is open on the day.
A left-luggage counter is on the T3A departure level, on the north side of the check-in area.
Sleeping pods are available in T3A domestic arrivals and in domestic departures pier F, useful for a late arrival or an early start.
Free Wi-Fi and 5G cover the terminals. ATMs are in T3A. Medical clinics are in T3A on level 4 and airside, with a 24-hour emergency line when they are closed. Mother-and-baby rooms are in the waiting halls, and older, disabled and pregnant passengers can ask for priority services, free buggies and wheelchairs.
The airport does not publish a set time to arrive, so follow your airline. As a guide, China Southern Airlines closes domestic check-in 40 minutes before departure and international check-in 100 minutes before. If you are connecting, the airport asks you to be at the gate at least 45 minutes before departure. Entry and transit rules for China depend on your passport, so check the official guidance before you travel. For updated times on the day, use the Traveloka flight status page.
The fare cards on this page show fares on popular routes from Chongqing. The schedule tables list upcoming departures and arrivals at Jiangbei by date, airline and scheduled time; they are a selection, not every flight. Pick a route, compare airlines and times for your dates, and set a Price Alert if you would rather wait for a better fare.
