Great location! Walkable to everywhere downtown. The hotel is old but clean. And because it is old, the rooms were very spacious. Tons of room to spread out and not feel cramped. The staff were very friendly and when we told them we forgot our toothbrushes and asked where the nearest place to buy them was, they gave us some complementary toothbrushes and toothpaste. They also have free coffee and tea in the lobby. I would definitely stay again!

The rooms were neat and tidy BUT in need of a huge upgrade. The bathroom was ancient. The rooms needed a update as well. The place is stuck in the last century. Old and musty scent throughout the building. Not enough staff on the check-in/check-out desk and that's a huge problem now during the tourist season. And DO NOT accept a room next to the parking lot. Noisy and exceedingly irritating all day and night long with people coming and going. In short, it is long past due for a clean up and major update considering you are paying a great deal of money for a simple room! The restaurant opens for breakfast and lunch then closes at 3pm for the day. What the hell is that all about?????

Bunch of power out in our room. 530 for one night when neither tv or the oven worked. We paid for a single queen and a fridge lol . Only 2 lights worked. Multiple breakers tripped and at 1:42 am maintanence saundered around the room with a flashlight and said it couldnt be fixed after 20 minutes of shining a flashlight at the tv. Its plugged in. No lamps or fans worked, we were given no refund of any amount or even anything further. Wouldn't go back tbh.

Staff and location were excellent!!! Staff was friendly and the location was reasonably close to downtown Victoria which we loved. Unfortunately we ran into a situation when we first arrived. Bath robes were missing, trash hadn't been properly taken out, and there was a particular smell in the bedroom which we aired out throughout the night. These were small details we could have easily overlooked, but what was a real bummer was a water bubble that was growing in the ceiling over our heads in the shower. This could have easily gone wrong if the bubble had burst while we were showing. They were able to move us into a bigger and nicer room which was sweet, but because it was a short trip it would have been nice to not have gone through these inconveniences in the first place as they took time away from our trip. Don't usually write hotel reviews like these, but I think this one was a must. For the price and location, it might just be worth it. Just scan your rooms beforehand...

I am not sure if it was Expedia or the hotel, but when we arrived, we were told they were sold out for that night and had no room booked for us. The front desk lady was very helpful, found a suite for us, and told us about all the amenities the hotel offered. The proximity to Victoria's inner harbour is excellent; we could walk everywhere we wanted to go, and there was parking for our car.

The room was clean and basic but there was no air conditioning and it has an old musty smell. The pool and the hot tub were clean and not busy at all. However, for $350 a night not even in peak season, I would expect more.
