The staff were lovely and welcoming, and the room was clean on arrival. The hotel was also nice and quiet, which helped us get a good night’s sleep, although we found the bed a little uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the breakfast was disappointing, with very limited options and extremely poor gluten-free choices for my coeliac child. There was no gluten-free bread, biscuits, or muffins available for example . Despite booking breakfast for 9:00 am at check-in, we still had to wait around 10 minutes for a table each morning , which made the booking system seem pointless. Housekeeping could also be improved, as the bedding and pillows often looked rushed and untidy after the room had been serviced. Overall, the friendly staff were the highlight of our stay, but the breakfast and housekeeping standards let the experience down.

The room is clean and fresh. The staff are very welcoming. The breakfast has a good variety of choices. Apart from the ordinary British breakfast, there are pastries and a waffle machine too! I will definitely choose this hotel next time when I visit Canterbury.

The hotel was central and not too far from the car park. However I have to say the bed was genuinely quite uncomfortable and the pillows disappeared when your head was on them. The breakfast was great and varied. Coffee wasn’t bad. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nice stay for the beds could be much much better

Extremely poor experience. The life was not working, when asked for water bottle to buy the receptionist said they run out of suppply She said the same when asked for complimentary Tooth brush and paste in the morning. Terrible breakfast, no boiled eggs, but the frozen ones. No bananas for breakfast, the toaster was damaged, I have seen the customers left with having burnt toast. They said it’s family friendly, but not at all. Paid around 170 per night, the price doesn’t justify with the poor service and inhospitable staff.

I was impressed by the hotel as soon as I walked through the door…lovely smell, great looking open light airy reception but most notably a really solid and warm welcome. This continued throughout the 2night stay - commendable customer service never failing to be personable, adaptable and professional. Very kind staff who really stepped up to help me as I was getting ready for my wedding! Couldn’t have asked for more. Great room, stunning view of the cathedral (room 416), safe access with key card lift operation, lovely breakfast and bar offerings. Genuinely cannot wait to stay here again. In comparison to the other options in Canterbury, this is 10/10, would now be my top choice of stay and is worth the potential slightly higher price, but you get value for money and with staff who go the extra mile. Shout out to Ness and the staff on from 19-21st May…thank you all for making me feel calm but also celebrated!

Great hotel in the heart of Canterbury. Had a cot set up for us on arrival. Bed really comfy and shower great. Breakfast was excellent, highlight being the waffle machines. Parking wasn’t an issue for us as we used the park and ride which took 5 minutes and was a 5 minute walk to the hotel so really convenient and only £4 a day vs £25 a night if parking in the city. Staff were all lovely. Loved how they respected history when building the hotel with the ground window in the lobby showing the theatre ruins below. Would definitely stay again on another trip to Canterbury.
