Check-in was efficient and reasonably quick. However, we had to mention our VIP offer as the staff were not aware of it initially. We also requested that our parking ticket be validated at check-in and were advised this had been done, only to find upon departure that it had not been validated, resulting in us having to pay the full parking charge. When we returned to the hotel to raise the issue, we were informed that nothing could be done, which was disappointing. Our room (903) was spacious and comfortable, with a large bed and adequate amenities. The décor appeared a little tired, and the toilet was cracked, but overall the room was satisfactory.

What I did find disturbing was that the emergency lighting was not working in the stairway after about level 2. Not fun when you are alone, with a lot of luggage and having to juggle your phone flashlight. I mentioned it to reception but the response was just "yes someone has said that...." not a great reaction to what could have been an emergency.

I have stayed here on a couple of previous occasions but i am afraid it will probably be my last time . The hotel is looking tired and the surrounding area is awful. The room was an upgrade costing £185 , although the room was large the bathroom was dated with a very old shower above the bath.
