This is my 2nd time staying here. The first time was 2019. Overall, it is easy check in instructions, took bus from Hallstatt city with bus number 543 is easy. The balcony with lake view is perfect. Just that the room doesn't have washroom inside but there are shower room. Kind of weird but it's ok. The room is clean and the view is excellent. The reception man & women is friendly as she help me to take some photos coz I travel alone. The environment is good, can have a chill walk in the evening and it is not too noisy compared to Hallstatt city which I like this place.
Just one disappointment that the hotel unable to issue me the tourist public transportation pass. He said he can only do it if I stay 3 nights, which I feel a bit unfair. Thus, I need to take bus which cost €2.80 each way to go Hallstatt city.

Kahvaltı yapmadık ancak çeşitlere göre pahalıydı. Otelde öğleden sonra resepsiyon kapalıydı (çalışanlar oldukça nazik bu arada), vending machine yoktu dolayısıyla ihtiyaçlarınızı görmeniz mümkün değil. Mecburen civardaki küçük 1 tane (o da başka bir tesise ait) marketten alabildik. Göl manzarası mükemmeldi. Genel olarak konforluydu ancak daha iyi olabilir.

The ciew was amazing, it could not be better, even the other lodge/hotels weren't as close to the water as my room's balcony. That being said, the breakfast was a continental style with few options for 18€ per person, which was not worth it.

Really really bad service. Do not recommend. It was 18€ a day for parking plus they charged us for having a smear on bed. They charged us 350€, extra because my wife lipstick fell on bed. Like I said do not recommend this place.

A simple hotel that met our needs. Room was small but comfortable and it was to find and check-in was smooth (note you need to notify arrival time and received details for self check-in using a secure lock-box).
Easy to get too via the Overtraun train station. There are also a couple of eateries near by too.
We didn't eat breakfast - so cannot comment on that, but met our needs sufficiently.
Thank you for helping make our stay at Obertraun and surrounding areas pleasant.

The location is wonderful being right on the water. It is significantly less expensive than those hotels in Hallstatt, which is a couple of miles away, with local bus and boat services. The ice cave and five fingers view point are actually located closer to Obertraun than Hallstatt. The self check in is well organized and easy to follow. Franz and his wife (I assume) are very friendly and helpful, particularly in giving details tour information around the area. Small improvements would help the rating of this property. For example, having a couple of proper glasses instead of the extremely fragile plastic cups would not be much cost but much better. I don’t believe there is a garbage bin in the room, although there is the little one in the shower/toilet. Adding a small safe and refrigerator would be more expensive but their long term benefits would be huge for travelers to leave their passports and other valuables in the room, and have a little option for drinks and simple foods giving the local options are so limited in Obertraun.

Basically you are in one of the most beautiful place in the world with a view of heaven! Amazing place! Pizza place 100 meters away and was pretty good! Breakfast is good. Awesome spot.

I stayed at this hotel recently and had a generally positive experience. The location is excellent — just a short walk to the boat that takes you to Hallstatt, which was incredibly convenient. The views from the property are stunning and definitely a highlight of the stay. Walking to the train station took about 7 mins.
The room, however, was quite small, especially considering the price I paid. It felt a bit cramped and may not be ideal for those looking for more space or comfort.
That said, the owner, Franz-Joseph, was very friendly and welcoming, which added a nice personal touch to the visit.
Overall, it's a great spot if you're prioritizing location and scenery.

Americans BEWARE!This host was awful. He has a huge disdain if your from America. No regard for service. Rude reply to a question my husband presented on the first day. We requested additional pillows and none were provided after he ackknowledged our request. The pillows are utter garbage. We failed to place a request for breakfast and unbeknownst to one person in our party she was thrown out of the breakfast area after pouring a cup of coffee. Upon checkout, he charged her for breakfast. Also at checkout, the host charged $18 per day versus the $12 per day in his welcome email sent the day of arrival. The worst customer service we have EVER encountered in our many travels. The room was the bear minimum.
