Hampton Inn by Hilton Montreal Downtown

Great location!

This is a lovely hotel in an excellent location between the old city and modern shopping/entertainment areas. The hotel staff are efficient and helpful. The breakfast was good, but the seating area is limited and filled up quickly. One concern: in these times of increasing environmental awareness, we were surprised that our towels and barely-touched bars of soap disappeared every day to be replaced with new ones, though our towels were hung up and the soap left in the provided soap holder. There is no need for this, and it's unnecessarily wasteful. A hotel at this level should know and do better!

1. The room lighting was quite dim, which made it difficult to do things like applying make up. We had to do our make up in the bathroom where the lighting was brighter. 2. The view from the room was disappointing and not what we expected. This was my second time to stay in this hotel. I liked the first one. 3. It would be helpful if basic amenities like toothbrushes and toothpaste were placed in the room before we check-in, as we had to contact reception to get them. 4. Unfortunately, our room was not cleaned. The housekeeper knocked to ask if we needed service, and we said yea but we were still getting ready for dinner at that time. Due to language barrier, he asked to use google translate, which we did. We agreed that he would return at 4:30pm to clean the room or at least take out the garbage. However, when we returned to the hotel, the room had not been cleaned and the garbage was still there. We contacted the receptionist to report the issue and only then learned that housekeeping service ends at 5:00pm. I’m really disappointed about this and it happened on my birthday!

The room was never clean, they never clean the bathroom or change sheets. The floors were very dirty. All housekeeping did was change towels and make the bed with the dirty sheets. We stay they for a whole week and they never clean the tub or the toilet. Do not recommend.

Location

Location is great, walking distance from various places of interest for touring the city, close to public transportation and easy parking. The room was nice and updated, however, a little too hot. The breakfast was ok, not necessarily a great addition, but convenient for not having to walk out the property before starting the day.

Hotel pres du vieux montreal

The line in breakfast was very long and the people was very crowded, the house keeping was very bad , i asked them to clean the room in second day of our stay ,they didn't clean the room ,one day after i spok to manager he told that he will send someone to clean, when i arrived the room i was surprised because they just fix the room they didn't change the sheets or clean the bathroom, it was very weird.

It was a short trip to celebrate NYE. The room was spacious. I figured out it was because they put us in an accessible room (even though I did not ask for it). The room faced an inner courtyard roof top which sucked. The room amenities were few (no shower cap for example). All in all, I will stay there on my next trip to Montreal.

bathroom door was stuck and not closing, the receptionist never picked up the phone call so i went down to the lobby to report the bathroom door issue and i saw this receptionist hung up the phone calls. I've been put into a different room and this room wasn't ready as well. No conditioner, clogged drain, old eggshell and dirt on the ground, and toilet paper hanger facing downward which made the roll to fall down. Lastly the receptionist never explained about the hotel facility (24 hrs hot water/coffee station, what's included in the $300 deposit, changed my last name as my first name so that I wasn't able to connect to the WIFI,,etc). I dont think I'd recommend this hotel to anyone, but the location is amazing for a tourist. It's located in Chinatown, walkable distance to Old Montreal, and nearby Place d'arms metro.
