Was recommended the Crown Plaza by a friend who spoke highly of it. Wish I’d booked the Crown in the centre instead. After walking around Harrogate for 2hrs in the rain until check-in, we were pleased to get out of our wet clothing. I went to make a cup of tea wearing my PJs only to find no tea bags, so had to put back on wet clothes to go to reception for tea bags. I was given 3 teabags for 2 of us (odd number but never mind), only after coming back into the room noticed no sugar so needed to repeat the whole process with wet clothing!! Very annoying. Dusty room (wasn’t just from 1 or 2 missed days - it was a build up) especially the small ledge under the TV. Cotton buds left in the room bin from the previous occupant, all in all, dirty and neglected, not presented well enough and was to a very poor standard of housekeeping. If this was the standard at 3pm, maybe we could have checked in earlier and saved getting wet because clearly it must have been a bed change and bin empty only - shame the bin liner wasn’t changed. Lady on reception asked me to complete a card detailing the issues with the room presumably to pass on to someone else, and told me she’d give a 10% refund off the room rate which I haven’t seen yet.. safe to say we won’t be staying in a Crown Plaza again.

Room was average, window was soaked with lots of damp inside the room. Reported to reception.

Hotel is in an ideal place for shopping and restaurants. Staff are excellent and rooms have fridge and very big beds. Lovely bar area too

Staff were very helpful, the premium room was spotless with plenty of room to move around and the bed was huge, with the bonus of a walk in shower.

Initially we were given a room with a connecting door to next room so we could hear every word. After contacting reception we were moved to a different room. Its a busy hotel, conferences taking place etc and building work. Great for business, not so great if you want to sleep in beyond 6/7am

Great room, close to the town centre. I recommend if you have a car you pre-book parking at the hotel.

We arrived early and we were directed to the car park. I was informed that the parking was to pay for when checking out. On further inspection I realised that parking was prepaid. This was rectified by the 2nd check-in person I saw. Couple of other points I have a blue badge and you only have 2 spaces in front of hotel. Maybe allocate some near the lift in the car park. Bar staff could be trained how to make an Irish coffee. I asked for an Irish coffee with disaronno instead of whiskey and got a cappuccino with disaronno in rather than a glass of coffee with whipped cream on top.

Room was clean , fresh towels each day Staff lovely , very friendly and efficient. Had evening meal one of the nights i stayed there , not a huge choice to pickfrom , but what i did have was o ithought expensive for what it over all a good stay

Excellent hotel, location is perfect for the town centre for the shops, bars & restaurants that are about a 5 - 10 minute walk. Also has the advantage of a large car park with very reasonable rate, add to this the staff are very friendly & professional. The hotel is also spotlessly clean. Will be staying again, thank you.
