Flights to Selangor departs and arrives in 3 different airports, Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 and the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang. The first two caters for both international and domestic flights while the later one mainly for domestic flights as well as for flights to nearby regional destinations.
The train transportation system here is well connected by the LRT, monorail, KTM and the Airport rail link. The LRT system can be further broken down to 2 different lines, the Kelana Jaya Line and the Ampang Line, connecting many locations in the city with major suburbs in Selangor.
Tourists can also take the intercity railway services namely the KTM Intercity and KTM ETS. It provides rail services to as far as Singapore in the south, and Hat Yai, Thailand, in the north.
Since Selangor is practically in the middle of Malaysia, tourists can practically take a bus from anywhere across the Peninsular.
If the plan is to take a bus from Penang, it would take about 5 hours to reach and about 3 hours from Ipoh. And down south, coming from Johor, it would approximately take about 5 hours and 2 hours if travelling from Malacca.
This beautiful limestone hill holds a rich history of being 400 million year-olds with a 100-year olf temple incorporated within it. Bukit Melawati is actually a fort built on top of a hill in the late 18th century by the second Sultan of Selangor to fortify his position and is situated in the coastal town of Kuala Selangor. All the remains that are here up to this very day, some cannons and loads of monkeys are indeed pieces of the foundation. There is also a lighthouse, a royal mausoleum and a rest house here.
The Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Mosque is one of the most outstanding structures in the country. It has the tallest minarets in the world and a vast blue dome which gives it the name ‘Blue Mosque’.
