Australian airlines
Australia is serviced by three major airlines along with a few regional ones, giving travellers options when it comes to inclusions and budgets. Here's a bit about each one:
- Qantas: Australia's largest airline and the country's flag carrier, offers full-service flights all over the country and dozens of destinations abrroad.
- Virgin Australia: An in-between carrier offering both budget fares and full-service seats, Virgin lets you pick and choose what's right for you.
- Jetstar: The largest budget airline in the country, Jetstar flies all over Australia and offers budget fares to holiday hotspots like Thailand, Bali, Fiji and New Zealand.
- Rex (Regional Express): The smallest of the four main airlines, Rex services regional centres that the other airlines don't. But, if may mean a few connections if you're travelling from one regional spot to another. But it sure does save many hours on the road.

Direct flights within Australia
Due to how vast the country is, and how bare much of the centre of the country is, Australia is very well connected by air. That means there's a lot of direct flights options.
If you're flying from one major city to another, you'll most likely be able to catch a direct flight. However, to regional cities or smaller destinations, you may need to connect.
