Cianjur Station (CJ) is a second-class railway station situated in Sayang, Cianjur. This station exclusively caters to Siliwangi trains, with Cibeber being the preceding station and Ciranjang as the subsequent station.
In addition to the train fleet's inadequate use, the available travel connections from Cianjur Station are also relatively restricted. Originally, this station, which was opened by the SS in 1883, exclusively catered to the Cianjur - Sukabumi line.
Starting from September 21, 2023, new service routes will be added to Cipatat, West Bandung Regency. The station's longevity is a testament to its rich historical background, which was established centuries ago and continues to operate today.
The station's help to meet society's needs for transportation has been restricted by the challenges it has faced throughout the years. Specifically, the train used to operate on the Padalarang-Cianjur line, but it was canceled in 2013 since there was no clear Public Service Obligation (PSO) contract.
The station also received the Kian Santang train, which was scheduled to commence operations in 2014 but was unsuccessful owing to technical difficulties. On November 21, 2022, the ceiling of Cianjur Station collapsed, leading to the temporary suspension of several journeys due to the earthquake.
However, Cianjur Station continues to operate well today, distinguished by a distinctive station bell. Upon departure or arrival, passengers will be greeted by the melodic tunes of "Manuk Dadali", "Karatagan Pahlawan", and "Ayun Ayun Ambing".
Sukabumi Station (SI) is a second-class railway station situated in the southernmost region of Operation Area I Jakarta. The sole rail station in Sukabumi City is situated at Gunungparang, Cikole, Sukabumi.
The Sukabumi Station building exhibits a comprehensive architectural style known as the Indische Empire. The locomotive utilized at this station is the latest CC206 locomotive, equipped with dual driver's cabins, eliminating the necessity for turning.
Sukabumi Station has been officially designated as a cultural heritage site due to its historical significance as a relic from the colonial era. The defining feature of the structure is its lofty ceilings, adorned with expansive doorways and semi-circular ventilation openings.
This station was first utilized for the transportation of people and agricultural commodities. Nevertheless, due to financial losses and significant damage to a section of the railway, Sukabumi Station was officially shut down in July 2006. Subsequently, it resumed operations on December 15, 2008, despite temporary closures caused by landslides.
Currently, Sukabumi Station is only served by two trains, namely Pangrango and Siliwangi. The Pangrango train runs on the Sukabumi-Bogor line and offers a selection of economy and executive classes. However, the Siliwangi train exclusively offers economy class for passengers traveling between Sukabumi-Cipatat and Cianjur.
Sukabumi offers an extensive range of fascinating destinations, ranging from its picturesque natural landscapes to its delicious and tempting culinary delights.
