Karawang has three active train stations for railway journeys:
Karawang Station (KW) is located on Jl. Arif Rahman Hakim, Nagasari, West Karawang, West Java. It is a large class C station situated at an elevation of +16 meters above sea level. This station falls under Operational Area (DAOP) I Jakarta and is managed by KAI Commuter.
Karawang Station is strategically located in the city center, making it easily accessible by public transportation or online transportation services. The station serves westbound operations such as KA Cikuray, northbound operations like KA Dharmawangsa heading towards Surabaya, KA Jayabaya, and KA Majapahit going towards Malang.
Additionally, it handles central Java operations, including KA Kutojaya Utara to Kutoarjo and Singasari, as well as KA Serayu for the southern Java route. Furthermore, the station operates as the service area for KA Commuter Line Walahar and Jatiluhur. Facilities at this station include parking areas, automated ticket machines, toilets, waiting areas, and information services.
Next is Cikampek Station, situated at an elevation of +46 meters above sea level on Jl. Stasiun Cikampek, Cikampek Kota, Karawang, West Java. This station is a large class B station under Operational Area (DAOP) I Jakarta, and it is the largest station in the district.
Cikampek Station serves westbound Javanese operations, including KA Cikuray, KA Argo Cheribon for specific schedules, KA Ciremai, KA Airlangga, KA Harina, and KA Jayabaya.
Additionally, for central Java operations, there are KA Jayakarta to Jakarta, KA Fajar Utama Yogya to Jogja, and KA Singasari. For southbound Java operations, there's KA Serayu, as well as local commuter trains Walahar and Jatiluhur. Facilities at this station include parking areas, waiting rooms, automated ticket machines, toilets, and charging areas.
There is also Klari Station, a class III railway station located at an elevation of +23 meters above sea level under DAOP I Jakarta. This station serves the KAI Commuter Line Walahar and Jatiluhur routes.
Meanwhile, Bandung has several stations that can be destinations for passengers, including:
Bandung Station, often referred to as Station Hall, is the largest and main transportation hub in Bandung. Located in Kebonjeruk-Andir, the station is on the border between Pasirkaliki and Kebonjeruk. Bandung Station has two entrances, one on the north side at Jalan Kebon Kawung No.43, and the other on the south side at Jalan Stasiun Timur No.1.
What’s interesting about Bandung Station is the implementation of a check-in system, similar to airports, including the use of boarding passes. While the station's exterior maintains its classic style, the interior has been modernized.
Kiaracondong Station, located at an elevation of +681 meters above sea level, is a large class B station serving intercity economy class train journeys across southern Java. The station also serves as a stop for mixed-class trains.
Andir Station, situated at an elevation of +750 meters above sea level, was originally a small station for local trains and economy class KRD. Despite its proximity to Husein Sastranegara International Airport, the station now serves as a monitoring station and no longer accommodates passenger boarding.
Cikudapateuh Station, located at an elevation of +691 meters above sea level, is a small station serving local train passengers. It used to have a branch line to Ciwidey, but this branch is no longer active.
Ciroyom Station, about 500 meters from Bandung Station, is a class II station located east of Ciroyom Market. The station serves KAI Commuter Line Lin Bandung Raya and Lin Garut. Additionally, its access is connected to TransMetro Pasundan Corridor 2 and TransMetro Bandung Corridor 2.
Cimindi Station, located at an elevation of +736 meters above sea level, is a class II station in Andir, west of Bandung, just behind Cimindi Market. The station accepts passengers and is the nearest station to Husein Sastranegara Airport.
Karawang Station is approximately 97.4 kilometers from Bandung Station, taking about 2 hours and 6 minutes via KAI Commuter Cikarang-Purwakarta PP. The station before Karawang Station is Kedunggedeh Station, followed by Klari Station. Meanwhile, the station before Bandung Station is Ciroyom Station, followed by Cikudapateuh Station. The first train to Bandung from Karawang departs at 10:30 AM, and the last one departs at 6:46 PM.
Located approximately 50 kilometers east of Jakarta, Karawang has experienced rapid development, transforming from an agricultural center to an industrial hub. With various transportation options available, one of the favorites is the train.
There are numerous daily routes, including those to Bandung. If planning to travel to Bandung from Karawang by train, several stations can be chosen as destinations, such as Cimahi Station, Kiaracondong Station, and Bandung Station.
