Cilegon-Jakarta Train Schedule
Currently, there is no long-distance train service on the Cilegon-Jakarta route. For Cilegon residents who want to go to Jakarta, they can take advantage of the Merak Commuter Line with the Rangkasbitung-Merak relation from Cilegon Station to Rangkasbitung Station.
Upon arrival at Rangkasbitung Station, passengers must transfer to the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line service to Tanah Abang Station. Tanah Abang Station itself is the terminus station or the last stop for Commuter Line Rangkasbitung.
From Tanah Abang Station, passengers can continue their journey with various public transportation around, such as online transportation, taxis, Transjakarta city buses, Transjakarta microtrans, or mikrolet.
People who access the Commuter Line service do not need to book tickets in advance, but only need to come to the nearest station and use e-money as a means of paying KRL tickets.
Cilegon Station (CLG) is the main entrance for people who will access the Merak Commuter Line. This station is a class II train station located on Jalan Stasiun Cilegon, Jombang Wetan, Jombang, Cilegon.
Cilegon Station is currently under the control of the Jakarta Operating Region I and only serves short-distance local trains, namely the Merak Commuter Line.
Historical records state that the Cilegon Station building is a relic of Staatsspoorwegen, which was a railroad company during the Dutch East Indies.
The station first operated in the 1900s. Because it has historical value, it is not surprising that the Cilegon Station building is registered as a cultural heritage asset.
Just like other stations, Cilegon Station is also equipped with a number of facilities to provide comfort to prospective passengers. At this station there is a charging area, counters, toilets, prayer rooms, and waiting rooms. On the platform, a canopy has been installed to ward off the heat of the sun and rainwater.
The way to get to Cilegon Station is by taking online transportation, taxi, or angkot.
As explained above, the people of Cilegon who will go to Jakarta must transit at Rangkasbitung Station, then take the Rangkasbitung Commuter Line to Tanah Abang Station.
Tanah Abang Station (THB) is a large class A railway station located on Jalan Jatibaru Raya, Kampung Bali, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta. The station was first inaugurated on October 1, 1899.
Currently Tanah Abang Station is one of the busiest stations in Jakarta. This station is also a transit location for Rangkasbitung Commuter Line passengers who want to transfer to the Cikarang Circle Commuter Line.
Initially Tanah Abang Station only had 5 lines. As time went by and the number of visitors to Tanah Abang Station increased, the train line at this station also increased by 1 line so that now there are 6 lines.
For the convenience of visitors, Tanah Abang Station has been equipped with a number of facilities such as toilets, prayer rooms, ATM galleries, escalators, food & beverage outlets, mini markets, and seating areas.
Travel to Tanah Abang Station can be reached using a number of transportation such as online transportation, taxis, city buses, microtrans, mikrolet, Transjabodetabek Regular, and Transjakarta Border Crossings.
Besides Tanah Abang Station, Jakarta still has many train stations that are ready to serve various types of train trips ranging from long-distance trains, KRL, LRT, and MRT.
Stations that serve long-distance train travel include Pasar Senen Station and Gambir Station.
According to train travel information posted on Gapeka 2023, the Merak Commuter Line will depart from Cilegon Station at the earliest at 05.32 WIB. The train is expected to arrive at Rangkasbitung Station at 07.00 WIB.
Meanwhile, the last Merak Commuter Line will depart at 19.22 WIB from Cilegon Station and arrive at Rangkasbitung Station at 20.45 WIB.
The duration of the trip from Cilegon Station to Rangkasbitung Station takes about 1.5 hours on average. The ticket price for the Merak Commuter Line is priced at Rp3,000 per person.
Commuter Line Rangkasbitung will start its journey at 04.00 WIB from Rangkasbitung Station. The train is scheduled to arrive at Tanah Abang Station at 05.47 WIB.
The last schedule of Commuter Line Rangkasbitung is at 21.19 WIB and will arrive at Tanah Abang Station at 23.06 WIB. The duration needed to get to Tanah Abang Station from Rangkasbitung Station is about 1 hour 40 minutes.
The Commuter Line Rangkasbitung ticket price is priced at Rp8,000 per person. Thus, a train trip from Cilegon to Jakarta requires a total cost of around Rp11,000.
