Lamongan is a regency located in the East Java Province. This area is approximately 49 km away from the center of Surabaya city. Lamongan shares borders with several regencies, namely Gresik, Jombang, Mojokerto, Bojonegoro, and Tuban.
One of the public transportation that connects Lamongan with other cities in Java is the train. There are two major stations in this area, Lamongan Station and Babat Station.
Lamongan Station is a class I railway station located at Jl. Panglima Sudirman No.27, Sidokumpul Village, Lamongan.
This station serves long-distance passenger trains that traverse the northern Java route, such as Ambarawa Express, Blambangan, Gumarang, Dharmawangsa, Kertajaya, Airlangga, Sembrani, Harina, Jayabaya, and Pandalungan.
Additionally, Lamongan Station also caters to commuter lines and local trains, namely Blorasura and Arjonegoro. Prospective passengers can reach this station using supporting transportation such as public minivans and motorcycle taxis.

Malang is a city located in the East Java Province, and it is renowned as one of the popular tourist destinations. One of the transportation options to reach this city is by train. The main railway station in the city is Malang Station, situated in Kidul Dalem Village, Klojen Sub-district, Malang. The station has two entrances, located on Jl. Panglima Sudirman and Jl. Trunojoyo.
Malang Station serves long-distance passenger trains, commuter trains, and local trains. Long-distance trains passing through northern Java and stopping in Malang include Jayabaya, Majapahit, Matarmaja, Brawijaya, and Tawang Alun. Trains traversing central Java include Kertanegara, Malioboro Express, and Gajayana.
The Malabar train, which passes through the southern part of Java, also stops at Malang Station. In addition, the station serves Arjuno Express agglomeration trains and Tumapel and Penataran commuter lines.

Besides Malang Station, there are two other stations in Malang City, namely Malang Kotalama Station and Blimbing Station. Malang Kotalama Station is located at Jl. Kolonel Sugiono, Ciptomulyo Village, Sukun, Malang City. Blimbing Station is situated at Jl. Stasiun Blimbing, Purwodadi Village, Blimbing, Malang City.
However, Malang Kotalama Station and Blimbing Station cannot be chosen for the Lamongan-Malang train route. Malang Kotalama Station serves long-distance passenger trains such as Tawang Alun, Majapahit, Matarmaja, Brawijaya, Kertanegara, and Gajayana. On the other hand, Blimbing Station only serves commuter line trains.
Traveling from Lamongan and Malang can be done by train transportation. However, currently there is only one train serving this route, Jayabaya Train. This train has Economy class and Executive class carriages.
The train departs from Lamongan only once, at 03:22, and arrives at Malang Station at 06:20. The distance between the two cities can be covered in a travel time of 2-4 hours. The ticket prices for the Lamongan-Malang route are Rp230.000 for Economy class and Rp325.000 for Executive class.
