Departure Stations in Malang

Malang has seven stations, some of which are large stations that are still actively serving train passengers. The seven stations are Malang Kota Baru Station (ML), Malang Kota Lama Station (MLK), Lawang Station (LW), Kepanjen Station (KPN), Blimbing Station (BMG), Singosari Station (SGS), and Sumberpucung Station (SBP).

Malang Kota Baru (ML) Station, also known as Klojen Station, is located at Jl. Panglima Sudirman (east entrance) and Jl. Trunojoyo (west entrance). This station is a large type A train station located at an altitude of +444 meters above sea level and is included in DAOP VIII Surabaya and KAI Commuter.

Malang Station serves various train travel relations for all classes, both economy, executive, and mixed. Some trains from the northern cross of Java that are served at this station are Jayabaya, Majapahit, Matarmaja, and Brawijaya. For the southern cross of Java, Malang Station serves Malabar train, and Tawang Alun train for the eastern cross of Java.

Meanwhile, trains from the central Java crossing served at this station are Kertanegara train, Malioboro Ekspres train, and Gajayana train. Then, the agglomeration relations served here are Arjuno Ekspres train, and Penataran and Tumapel commuter trains.

Departure Stations in Gresik

Gresik Station (GS) located at Jl. K.H. Kholil 18, Pekelingan, Gresik, East Java, is a small station located at an altitude of +2 meters above sea level and is included in the DAOP VIII Surabaya asset building. However, the station ceased full operation in 1975, and railroad operations for this area by Indro Station.

Indro Station (IDO) located in Sidorukun, East Java, is a class I railway station located at an altitude of +8 meters above sea level and is included in DAOP VIII Surabaya and KAI Commuter. Although it is a class I station, Indro Station is not a big station, so the facilities offered are not many. Some of them include prayer rooms, toilets, direct ticket purchase services, and information centers.

Detailed Travel Information from Malang to Gresik

From Malang, Gresik is 108.9 kilometers away. Unfortunately, there is no direct train route from Malang to Gresik. So, the trip can be done from Malang to Surabaya first, either Surabaya Gubeng Station (SGU) or Surabaya Pasar Turi Station (SBI).

Travel from Malang to Surabaya can be done by using Jayabaya train in economy or executive class. The train will depart for Surabaya at 12:30 pm, and arrive in Surabaya at 2:21 pm (SGU), or 2:40 pm (SBI). Ticket prices start from Rp40,000 for economy class and Rp50,000 for executive class.

From Surabaya, the journey to Gresik can be continued by Sindro Train. From Surabaya Gubeng Station, Sindro Train will depart at 06.00, 10.58, and 15.57 WIB. Meanwhile, the departure schedule of Sindro Train from Surabaya Pasar Turi Station is at 06.20, 11.18, and 16.30 WIB.

The journey from Surabaya to Gresik will take approximately between 37 minutes to 57 minutes, with the ticket price for Sindro train is IDR 5,000 for each trip. Tickets for this commuter train can be booked approximately 7 days before the departure date.
