Surabaya, a rapidly growing metropolis in East Java, boasts a robust transportation network with seven main railway terminals.
These stations include Pasar Turi Station, the primary hub for trains heading to the eastern region of Java, and Gubeng Station, the largest station in the Gatekertosusila area. Other stations such as Wonokromo, Surabaya Kota (Semut), Tandes, and Kandangan also play essential roles in connecting various areas in Surabaya. Pasar Turi and Gubeng stations both serve Gresik.

It serves as a key hub for both intercity services and local transportation, offering a wide range of facilities.
Surabaya Pasar Turi Station, the primary station for the Pantura route (Surabaya-Bojonegoro-Cepu-Semarang-Cirebon-Jakarta), gets its name from the nearby market where vendors sell turi flowers. Close to the station is a wholesale center from where the train line begins.
Indro Station (IDO), situated in Sidorukun, Gresik, is a primary station under Operation Area VIII, Surabaya. Despite its name, it is located 2 km north of Indro, Kebomas, or Gresik. The station has six train lines, with only lines 1-4 currently operational. It serves as the final destination for commuter rail travel along the Sidoarjo–Indro route.
The Gresik City route has been inactive since the 1980s. The line to Gresik Station, near Gresik Harbor, was discontinued in 1975. Remnants of residential houses along the route can still be seen along Jalan Harun Tohir.
Indro Station was reopened in 2016 to facilitate container trains. However, it ceased operations in April 2017 due to unpaid invoices. The station resumed passenger services in 2021, catering to the transportation needs of workers and residents in the Gresik industrial area.
