Kutoarjo Station (code: KTA) is located in Semawung Daleman, Kutoarjo, Purworejo, Central Java Province. This station is a large class A station which is included in Operational Area (DAOP) V Purwokerto as well as the management of KAI Commuter Operational Area VI Yogyakarta.

From Gambir Station, Kutoarjo Station is approximately 448 kilometres to the southeast. Meanwhile from Bandung Station, this station is 324 kilometers to the east. Kotoarjo Station may have existed since 1987 when the Cilacap-Kroya-Kutoarjo-Yogyakarta line was built, as well as a branch line leading to Purworejo.

Kutoarjo Station is a station that specifically serves long-distance passenger trains passing through the Purworejo area. Meanwhile, Purworejo Station, which previously served passenger trains, was finally decommissioned in 2010.

The station, which is located at an altitude of +16 meters above sea level, is equipped with various facilities that support the comfort of prospective passengers. Apart from that, the South Kutojaya Train with its final destination Bandung Kiaracondong Station also stops at Kutoarjo Station for the southern Java route.
