Kuantan is the state capital of Pahang which is the biggest state in Peninsular Malaysia. The name ‘Kuantan’ was mentioned by Munshi Abdullah back in the 1850s. How to Get There

By Plane

Kuantan has an airport named Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Airport. Most of the flights that lands here are domestic flights from KLIA and KLIA 2 for airlines such as Airasia, Malaysia Airlines, Firefly and Malindo. However, there are also some flights that go to Singapore directly.

By Car

From Kuala Lumpur, visitors may take the Karak Highway and East Coast Expressway that connects Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur. It is around 250 kilometres far and the driving time may take up to 3.5 hours. There will be tolls for cars and the fare will be RM27.60 per car per way.

By Bus

Visitors may take a bus from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan and head to Kuantan directly. The duration is around 4 hours. The fare, on the other hand, is RM22 per way. It will stop at Terminal Sentral Kuantan. Besides Kuala Lumpur, the buses at this terminal also head to other major cities such as Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru as well as Melaka and Singapore.
