Kota Kinabalu International Airport (IATA: BKI, ICAO: WBKK) is an international airport which located in the city of Kota Kinabalu, the state capital of Sabah, the land below the wind. It is situated about 8 km away from the heart of the Kota Kinabalu city centre. It is the second busiest airport in Malaysia, after Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) with around 4 million passengers using this airport annually for domestic and international flights. If you are traveling by air, the airport provides the main access into the state of Sabah and into Borneo island. The airport is divided into 2 terminals, namely Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The new terminal building (Terminal 1) officially opened in 2008 offers all the facilities of a modern airport, which features duty-free shops, other shops, lounges, travel agents, restaurants, and other facilities. Terminal 1 is the main terminal of Kota Kinabalu International Airport and you can reach the terminal via Jalan Putatan in Petagas nearby Kepayan. Terminal 2 is the original terminal building of the airport when it is first built. It is accessed via Jalan Mat Salleh in Tanjung Aru and is located on the other side of the runway from Terminal 1. Do make sure which terminal your airlines will be operated, as the both terminals are not connected to each other. Locker service is also available at affordable charge. How to Get There

Kota Kinabalu International Airport Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are about 20 minutes away from Kota Kinabalu city centre depending on traffic conditions. There are shuttle buses, metered taxis and Uber available for passengers travelling to and from Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. The bus ticket is around RM 5.00 per trip while the taxi fare should be about RM 30++ from the Kota Kinabalu city centre to Terminal 1 or Terminal 2.
