Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Besi is a primary school located at the small mining town of Bukit Besi, within the district of Dungun, state of Terengganu, Malaysia. It is easily found alongside Jalan Mutiara with other facilities such as postal office, government clinics and many more. Like any other primary schools in the country, this school is fully funded by government though at times the school seeks its own funds by crowdsourcing from parents and teachers.

It is a relatively small to medium school catered to 500 students of different genders and races at times ranging from Grade One till Grade Six. Most of the parents of these students would work in the iron ore mining industry which has been the major economic driver of the town since its early days. The area would usually be slightly busier in the morning around 7 am and evening around 12 pm from Mondays to Fridays when the students would attend the compulsory schooling session.

The nearest express bus terminal is the Dungun Express Bus Terminal which is located alongside Jalan Kuala Terengganu. Take the trip directly to Dungun from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) terminal using express bus services such as Express Kesatuan, Express Mutiara and Transnasional Express. Located further deeper into the area which takes about 50 minutes by car from the landmark, it is such a hidden gem that contains beautifully awe-inspiring waterfalls. One of these waterfalls are the Chemerong Waterfall which takes an hour and half trekking by foot from the park entrance, nonetheless the multitier fall keeps you amazed with its outstanding landscape. Upon entering, one has to go through palm estates yet the forest can be seen from a far due to the height of the trees. Several rivers running through the forest reserve is stunningly crystal clear with several camp sites available for the adventure seekers.

Tasik Puteri Recreational Park

A stone’s throw away from the city center, one would need less than ten minutes to reach the recreational park when driving. Being a part of the Tasik Puteri Golf Club, visitors may notice the main feature, that is mesmerizing man-made lake when arriving. The greeneries are abundant, making it a perfect spot for sightseeing with family and friends. Making the place even more exciting is the waterfall located further inside the park which is ideal for swimming and picnicking in groups. There are also a specific shallow spot for kids and for those who preferred the less deep waters.
