Clark International Airport (CRK) - As the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila vastly becoming busier, Clark International Airport is 1-hour 30-minute drive from the capital and 80 km northwest of Manila. Located in the province of Pampanga, the Clark International Airport serves the general vicinity of central and northern Luzon. Travelers can easily catch public buses in the Metro Manila area to the Clark International Airport. For a cheaper ride, travelers can opt for the air-conditioned jeepneys en route to the nearby Dau Bus Terminal and SM City Clark. Around the Clark International Airport, travelers can walk around the Clark Freeport Zone, which is five minutes away. There are plenty of restaurants and duty-free shops to keep you entertained. For travelers with a little extra time, not far from the airport is the Dinosaur Island theme park.
General Santos International Airport (GES) - Located approximately 14 kilometers from General Santos’s central business district. The airport serves the greater area of Soccsksargen. As the airport is quite a small airport, the facilities are quite limited. Travelers will be able to find duty free shops and other shops throughout the airport. There is an air-conditioned restaurant on the second floor of the airport. The airport is reported to close off at night; therefore, travelers are advised to secure a method of transportation from the airport before the airport closure time. Travelers can easily hail a taxi within the airport grounds. Taxis to and from the General Santos International Airport will cost approximately PHP 243 per trip.
Located more than 1,700 kilometers south from Clark, General Santos experiences a tropical climate compared to Clark that has a tropical savanna climate. The average temperature in General Santos is 27 degrees Celsius compared to Clark, which is 29.5 degrees Celsius. Clark, however, receives more rainfall compared to General Santos with an annual rainfall of 1771 mm per year and Clark with a yearly rainfall of 1991 mm per year.
