As the biggest airport in the province, the airport is located in the Xiaodian district, which is about 15 kilometres southeast of the city downtown. It is the 28th busiest airport in China.   • Twin Pagoda Temple - Twin Pagoda Temple is one of the popular attractions in Taiyuan. It is a temple with two pagodas that look alike. It was built in 1597. However, they did not finish construction at the same time, with the western pagoda only being built later in 1612. This set of pagoda towers are the highest of its kind in China, with the East Pagoda and West Pagoda measuring up to 53.3 and 54.78 meters high respectively. It has breathtaking scenery.
  • Jinci - Jinci is also known as the Jin Temple. It is another popular attraction in Taiyuan. It is among the most prominent temple complexes that can be found in the city. It is located 25 kilometres southwest of the city. The temple is located at the foot of Xuanweng Mountain nearby the Jin Springs. Due to the ongoing expansion work over the centuries, there are hundreds of sculptures, buildings, terraces, and bridges that can be found in the area, with the most renowned of all being the Hall of the Holy Mother which was constructed during the Song dynasty.
  • Yingze Park - Taiyuan is also popular with natural attractions. Yingze Park is one of the natural parks that are easily accessible from the downtown of Taiyuan. It is a huge park and covers an area of 63.28 hectares including the lake. It has been opened to the public since 1957. There are many plants, including flowers that can be found across the ten gardens that can be visited here. You can also visit nearby attractions like Jin Merchant Museum, Cangjing Building and an ornate archway known as "Beauty of Taiyuan".
