The view from my room is beautiful, right in front of the waterfall. However, the carpet was wet, the pillows were too high, and one pillowcase had a blood-like stain. There were insects in the room, and I could hear the hair dryer from the next room. They took a long time to find my reservation and charged me $50 to park my car. Apart from that, the location is good.

I am beyond frustrated with my recent stay here. This experience was a classic case of "bait and switch," and I feel completely misled by the hotel's advertising. The Room: Motel Quality at Hotel Prices We booked this specifically because the listing promised a Fall view. Instead, we were tucked away in a room that felt like a budget motel. The "view" was essentially a brick wall and a parking lot. The interior was dated and lacked the premium feel we expected based on the photos online. Hidden Fees & "Gotchas" The lack of transparency regarding pricing is predatory. Upon checkout, I discovered a mountain of hidden charges for basic amenities and "service fees" that were never mentioned during the booking process. It feels like they try to nickel-and-dimed you for every breath you take. Overpriced Parking To top it all off, the parking is outrageously expensive. You’re already paying a premium for the room, and then they hit you with a daily parking rate that is higher than most city centers. Bottom Line: Save your money and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other hotels in the area that actually provide the views they promise without hiding fees in the fine print. I won't be returning.

Hotel was well maintained, and had great views from the higher floors. We aware that the “exterior rooms” were not as well maintained and are not disability accessible. The hot tub and sauna were also well maintained. We were able to walk to anything we wanted without issues, and felt very close! The parking is a bit small, but was still manageable.

The staff was very uncaring…the room was nothing like the photo outdated for sure and carpet was filthy…18th floor and no coffee machine had to go to bottom floor and stand in a line up to get a coffee and no breakfast nothing….very over priced for sure…the jacuzzi was not appealing at yellow in colour from age…was in elevator going down and it jerked with a bang to the point we thought we were falling to the bottom (whole spine was jolted). When I brought it to the staffs attention they made zero comment….I do have one good thing to say at least the coffee was good but the cups where too small no sooner got it that you were finished larger cups would be nice and a jug of cream not those silly little containers. That only held up the line ( counter way too small ) oh did I mentioned ice is only on certain floors and not on ours…no interest in returning and planning on passing the word on to friends

The property is outdated and small things did not make sense like how the washroom was split into two sections. Room needs more attention to detail. The floor tile in the washroom/entry area was sticky and do not recommend walking barefoot. The room entry door was stiff and hard to open, almost had shoulder check the door to get in. The view of the falls was incredible but the windows were not clean from previous visitors staying in the room with finger prints and smudges on the inside of the room windows. The tv is very small and would have expected something larger than 20 inch. When another room was running water you could hear the piping making noise when the water was running and was waking us up in the morning. Pictures online are over exaggerated. The rooms are not as nice as the pictures. Personally I should have gone with another hotel as the price difference would have not been that much more where the rooms would have been newer and not so run down. Staff was amazing! Very accommodating but the price for parking is also a little outrageous and more of a money grab. Swimming pool looked clean but all the side walls were sticky from other people and was kinda gross. The sauna was gross with hair on the floor and did not want to heat up to proper temperature. No robes in room and the walk to and from the swimming pool is awkward. Coffee in the lobby is not coffee and had to walk to Starbucks in the morning.

We showed up for our reservation to find out there was an issue with our room and we are not staying at the oaks hotel anymore but at the Hilton down the street selling it as an upgrade to is at no extra cost. We picked the oaks specifically from its location to a restaurant we were meeting a large group at. While the Hilton wasn’t much further it was not what we wanted when booking. No phone calls or email letting us know, but only finding out when finely making it through the line up at the front desk. We move to the other location which was even busier at the front desk. Get through the line and find out there was no onsite parking left and we would need to drive to a satellite lot and shuttle back. But the shuttle is free and they’ll charge us the same rate that would have been at the Oakes on-site lot. With all of the confusion and check ins at both site it was about an hour and a half to finally check in. What’s even more frustrating is if we couldn’t make it to this reservation we would have been charged for the night as it was non refundable. But we can be relocated to a completely different site no word from anyone and still pay full price. I mentioned this to the front desk at the Hilton and she let me know if I did want to cancel we would have to take that up with the Oakes and MAYBE they would give us our money back.

We went to this hotel at 1pm to register early until our room was ready at 4pm. Check-in was quick and efficient. Room looked totally different than the images on their website. This is an older hotel with blue walls and light brown decor and the jacuzzi was in the bathroom not in the actual room unlike the image shown on their website/Expedia. Although dated, we were pleasantly surprised at how spacious it was. Surprisingly, no microwave, no coffee machine, just a fridge, alarm clock, a bottle of lotion and 1 facial soap is all you get. Parking is additional $50/night. We never used the pool or gym. Peeking into the window, no dumbbells. Another hotel we stayed at also had none, shocker. No restaurant in this hotel, but Applebee's, STK, Starbucks and many others closeby. Our sink had no cold water, just scalding hot. Had to brush teeth and wash face in jacuzzi tub. Told Assistant Manager who comped us for the $25 extra hour we purchased to stay past checkout time. The view was incredible, we had a corner King jacuzzi suite. Costed $310CAD for a night before parking. Cleanliness and no smells are key for us, so we appreciated that they didn't use deodorizers like some hotels do. The TV is very small and there was Netflix accessibility. Bed was comfortable except they do triple sheeting, plus a bottom sheet that didn't fit the bed that kept coming up, so you end up laying on the bed protector. I would stay here again if the room rate was under $220.
