Oakes Hotel Overlooking the Falls

Had this hotel booked for the last six months No emails no contact at all until I wait 20 minutes at their reception to be told (We don’t have a room for you! - but we have got you a room at the Hilton) I thought this was very poor on their part. Booked early to have an overlooking the falls and then told to move on! The Hilton was ok Had to ask to have our room serviced and then they didn’t leave us coffee or refill bathroom amenities Very disappointed!

I'm so happy tonbe in this hotel mybhusband and me like a lot it have the perfect and best view to niagara falls, wake up with this Window and see this beautiful nature is magical I want to come back

It was not clean properly. You can feel rooms and windows dirty

Room was clean, amazing staff, parking was a little expensive but that is to be expected in downtown Niagara. Overall, great place to stay.

Room was dirty and falling apart. No instructions about parking. Lineup 50 mins to check in. Called beginning of week to ask about adding a bed or upgrading a room and was told to do it at check in. When we got to check in I asked to either add a room or add a bed or upgrade and was told they would add cots for a charge. We got to our rooms at end of the night and there was no cots. After calling the front desk, we were told there's no more beds and no more rooms to accommodate the stay. There was no manager or supervisor to help assist and was told there was no blankets or pillow and that neither of the only two people working would be able to bring us anything Two people slept on the floor.

The hotel is close to the fall

Drived 7 hours just to be told until then I couldn’t get the room I booked because it was under “maintenance”. Then I was transferred to the near by Hilton hotel. Would’ve appreciated a heads up since everything was already confirmed for my trip.

The property has a great location, but the high cost of the rooms should have included a microwave and a coffee maker. A lot of added extras made the stay more expensive. Nice fireworks , but visitors pay for it. Everything is about money in that area. Couldn’t even walk straight down to the falls without having to pay $8 round trip on an elevator, where simple steps could have provided easy access. Parking was $60 (Canadian) per hour by the falls in one place and$40 (Canadian) per day just two blocks away. Loved the view, but hated the prices.

Terrible Experience — Would Not Recommend This was honestly a terrible hotel experience from start to finish. When we arrived, instead of being accommodated at the hotel we had booked, we were sent to another hotel, which was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. To make matters worse, the air conditioning in the room was not working properly. The room was uncomfortable and far too warm, especially at night, and as a result, we were barely able to sleep. After traveling and expecting a comfortable stay, having to deal with an uncomfortable room and poor air conditioning made the entire experience extremely disappointing. We expected much better, especially considering we had booked and paid for a specific hotel. The inconvenience of being moved to another property, combined with the AC issue and lack of proper sleep, made this one of the worst hotel experiences we've had. I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

The view was incredible, it sort of took away from the negativity of the hotel.The first room was literally on top of a restaurant and seemed like a storage closet made into a bedroom. We quickly changed and moved to another room.The pool and so called gym was terrible.

Amazing view from our room of the Canadian and American side of the falls. Clean and spacious room, perfect location. Could watch the fireworks from our room.

Excellent view of niagara falls from the bedroom. Only down side, suite can occupy 10 people, and have just one bathroom. we were two families of group of 7 stayed there and it was tough to manage. Living room was not useful and crowded/ small with furnitures.

Our room was on the 7th floor and we could see the niagra falls river and fireworks at night. Great location walking distnace to all the attractions at clifton hill and steps away from the WEGO busses to take you up downtown. This was our view from our room. Highly recommend

I didn’t get to stay there because it was full. But, they stated pluming issues. I wasn’t please put up at the Hilton and my room smelled . They did spay it but it didn’t help. I dealt with it because it was booked up. I will not book with them again. My view was good and the room was clean at the Hilton. They gave me a little 50 back.

Booked online, at check in I was advised it would be an additional 50 dollars to park my motorcycle on the property (and THEY TAXED THAT), also a 27 dollar “resort fee”. Then I (along with probably 15 other guests) waited well past check in time for our room to be ready. They tried to downgrade me the whole time. Don’t stay here!

I was not allowed to enter the country, and this hotel would not return my $750
