"Pasig is one of the oldest municipalities in Manila giving the city a rich history. Today, it’s a modern city that is home to one of the top business districts, gastronomic restaurants, and a rainforest park. Visit the Spanish-Baroque mansion, now called the Pasig City Museum, for a walk through the historical development of the place or go to Kapitolyo to try out different food."

I reserved a twin room for an overnight stay with my mom. Upon check in, we were given an upgrade without me asking and got a bigger room with a cute and nice dining table where my mom and I enjoyed our coffee. During the breakfast buffet, the staff were so attentive and offered to serve my mom who is a senior citizen instead of having her stand up and get her own food. Although we were initially confused where to check in/out, Tower A or B, overall, the stay was well worth it and we will surely come back.

I booked four rooms and unfortunately all four rooms were infested with roaches since day 1 of our check-in. Trouble with the wifi also, sometimes it disconnects on its own, then the aircon is not fully maintained in one of the rooms. The good thing about the rooms are the huge space, the view, and the bed.

We had an unpleasant stay in The Linden Suites. We paid 6k for our room and it was a 4-star hotel so we expected that it will be clean. However, there were lots of issues in their amenities as shown in the photos aside from the incomplete supply of common necessities such as slippers. We were two but they only gave us one pair. We can somehow forgive those stuff but we encountered unpleasant attitude from staffs as well. 1. We waited for more than an hour before we were checked in. (Understandable because the desk was busy with the DILG and Deped people I think.) However, the people at the front desk did not show pleasantries when I approached them. 2. Our internet was poor so they gave us two vouchers. My husband called the desk and a guy picked up the call but for some reason, the front desk cut the call (or the call was “accidentally disconnected”) but we waited for a return call but didn't receive anything. 3. Receiver in the restaurant stopped us from entering because we were wearing our sleep wears (terno pajamas). We normally wear our pjs even in other countries. Their rule is understandable because then again, I think there were lots of DILG people checked-in that day (but they should've at least advised us not to wear sleep wear when we were checking in). We eventually changed our wears but when we sat down, there were hairs in my bacon. 4. The front desk called at 10:30 and asked us to check-out at 11 although we requested the day before for a late check-out. I hope the staff do better next time. 🙃

We're relocated during the last minute of our check in time. the relocation option that we had was an uncleaned room and far away from the cleanliness of the rooms in go hotels. the price we paid with the relocation is too much for that place.

Very friendly staff and room was clean. Although we were transferred from Escarpment to Hillcrest :/ and I requested for a non-smoking room but there were ashtrays in the room assigned.

By land transportation

Traveling to Pasig is easier than you think. You have all the possible public transportation available while you can hire private vehicles as well. The city is reachable via MRT, Jeepneys, taxi cabs and UV Express available in Megamall and other designated terminals. However, take note that there are places in Pasig that are not passable by jeepneys.

Getting Around

Wandering in Pasig can be possible through the remarkable Pinoy Jeepneys. Some destinations are best explored by walking while you cabs are still an option when going around the city.

Tourist Attractions

Ark Avilon Zoo

Pasig offers many entertainment places that are suitable for family trips, barkada hangouts and solo adventure. Ark Avilon Zoo, an indoor interactive zoo in the Philippines is located at Frontera Verde in Ortigas Avenue. It is home to various kinds of animals and rare-bred species which you can play and get up close with.

Tiendesitas is drawing crowds for its wide array of commodities that are on sale. Thrift-shoppers can definitely take home a good bargain from visiting this one-of-a-kind mall.

Those who want to breathe fresher air can go to Capitol Commons, the latest lifestyle destination in the area. The Capitol Commons Park is going to be a fun-filled neighbourhood of Pasigeños because of several events that can be held here.

Top Things to Do

Pig out in Pasig! Aside from neighbour cities, Pasig is also becoming one of the best eating districts in Metro Manila. You can drop by Pearl Drive, a street with a long line of food chains. Pasig Kapitolyo is also a primary choice of foodies who love trying different flavors of every cuisine there is.

Estancia Mall

If you’re on a diet, you can say “I’d rather go shopping!” because the area is home to many shopping malls such as Shangri-La, SM Megamall, St. Francis Square, Robinsons Galleria, and Estancia Mall.

Go on staycation with friends and travel buddies! Pasig never gets short of lux hotels and resorts that offer comfort away from home.

Where to Eat

Tiendesitas Food Village

If you are a hard core foodie, you’ve come to the right place. Pasig city will give you an extreme gratification over the foods that can be found here. Kapitolyo is one of the most recommended eating districts to stray in Pasig. If you are the kind who gives extra points for aesthetics and interior, Café Juanita is for you. It is designed with rustic bohemian touch bringing the customers to old cinematic settings. They serve Filipino foods with a twist and is best to visit with your family.

A true-blue breakfast lover? Kanto Freestyle Breakfast will give you what you want for as low as Php 100. And if you’d like to try something new, visit Where’s Marcel? in Pearl Drive. They serve specialty coffee, cold tea and a wide array of sandwiches and pastries. Whatever your taste craves, one thing is for sure: all these restaurants and cafes are Snapchat-worthy!

Nightlife

Get tipsy at Tipsy Pig in Capital Commons. This gastro pub is no different from other casual dining, only with a twist. And the twist is the alcoholic beverages they serve, best partnered with Filipino favourite finger foods. Another is Boroughs which is located at The Podium. This is also known as the restaurant/ bar that never sleeps. Beer aficionados say that they serve the best beer in town!

Where to Stay

Tiendesitas High Rise Building

Since you’re in a bustling city, it’s never a trash to try the luxury hotels flocking in the business district of Ortigas Center. There is Privato Hotel which caters modern and sophisticated ambience plus a rooftop swimming pool best for your  solo moment.

If you prefer accommodation near the commercial centers of Metro Manila, then Richmonde Hotel is where you should be. Those who are not much picky can walk around the business district and easily find a hotel for overnight sleep.

Travel Tips

  • Pasig can be crowded with both public and private vehicles especially on rush hours. Avoid going on streets during the rush hour to save time and energy.

  • Pack light when going around the city because too much baggage can be a hassle.

  • Gastro pubs and night bars’ operating hours may vary; always check before going in.
